How To Get Magnify Materia #1 In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Unlike other materia that can be purchased directly from vendors around the many regions ofRebirth, Magnify Materia is a rare one, given its utility and usefulness in nearly every situation. Although players will be given their first glimpse of Magnify Materia in the prologue of the game, during chapter 1, the gear cannot be retained from that section of the story, serving mainly as a tease. This leaves players with only two opportunities to acquiretwo Magnify Materia orbs in the game.
Due to the overpowered nature of its function, the Magnify Materia is kept to late-game sections, so players will get a proper hands-on experience with it for the first time after completingChapter 8: “All That Glitters.”Without going too deep into spoiler territory, after the completion of Chapter 8, the cute plush toy cat,Cait Sith, is added to Cloud’s partyas a playable member. Players will be delighted to see thatCait possesses a Magnify Materiain their equipment slot by default, which can be freely equipped onto a different member of the player’s choice.

How To Get Magnify Materia #2 In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
The only other Magnify Materia is obtained via the“Victim of Circumstance”side quest fromCosmo Canyon’s noticeboard. The side quest becomes accessible after reaching Chapter 12, “A Golden Key.” After moving to the quest’s location, Cloud and his party will come across Zhijie, who will set our heroes on an objective to track an underground monster with the help of a Vibrodetector. This particular tool must first be bought from aMoogle Emporium for 3 Moogle Medalsif players haven’t already.
The Moogle Emporium must be at level 4 for the item to be purchasable.

After acquiring the Vibrodetector, head to thethree locations marked on the map. Equip the tool by pressing Up on the D-pad and then move in the direction shown in the video walkthroughs below. If the Vibrodetector sends a blue signal, it means that the player is moving in the right direction.
The first waypoint marked on the map will not result in a fight. However, the other locations will see two monsters spring up from the sands with malign intent. Upon defeating them both, Zhijie will pull up in his truck to award players the much sought-after Magnify Materia.

How To Use Magnify Materia In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Magnify Materia essentially increases the range of linked green-colored orbs of materia, including fire, lightning, healing, etc., which means thatthe effect is applied to multiple targets instead of a single one. The implications are great, as offensive spells like fire and ice will now exploit the weakness of multiple enemies. Similarly,a Magnified Cure will have a party-wide healing effect. As long as players link a green materia with Magnify Materia, they can enhance the effects of the linked materia in battle by pressing the L1 button. If the player wants to toggle back to using the standard spells on single targets without utilizing the effects of the Magnify Materia, they can simply hit L1 again.
Expanding the range of the effect of spells comes at a cost of potency, but this value can be minimized by up to 75% effectiveness with the Level 3 AP upgrade of Magnify Materia. It goes without saying that due to the effectiveness reduction, whether it’s in terms of damage or healing, it’s recommended to only magnify spells when targeting a group of enemies.
