Despite thewide range of weaponsand equipment provided to players as they progress through theLast Epoch’s story, the best items are only available at the end of the game, andLast Steps of the Livingis one of them. Being a unique arcane item, these boots offer excellent Armor stats, a good speed boost, and a significant Ward Retention bonus, which will be helpful for any player. But importantly, it allows you to become one with the cold with Chill and several related modifiers.
Last Epochplayers will have to take the Last Steps of the Living boots from a dead but powerful enemy. That is, of course, if they can withstand the terrifying cold and the power of the Void.

Where to Find Last Steps of the Living in Last Epoch
The only way to get the Last Steps of the Living in theLast Epochis todefeat Formosus the Undyingin theBlood, Frost, and Death Timeline. This high-level Monolith of Fate is a three-stage challenge that includes the Wengari Battleground, Occupied Heoborea, and The Lair of Formosus quests. After making your way through hordes of enemies and overcoming the Undead Wengari Matriarch and Frost Lich Formosus, you will finally reach the final boss and must fight him in the hope of acquiringthe desired item.
It is worth noting that you need tokill as many enemies as possibleto accumulate Stability to access each stage of Monolith of Fate. As for the Formosus the Undying boss, to access the third stage and the boss room, you will need300 Stability in Normaland800 Stability in Empowered.

The good news is that you can get the Last Steps of the Living regardless of the boss variant. So, if you only want to get new boots, entering the room with 300 Stability will be a great time-saving solution.
Additionally, Last Steps of the Living’s high stats are not due to theextreme rarity of the item. Defeating Formosus the Undying provides a50% chanceof receiving this item. Alternatively, you can acquireFrozen Eyes of Formosus, but you will be unable to get both items at once. You will only need a few tries to get what you want, but getting one item doesn’t increase your chances of getting another, so it may take multiple tries if luck isn’t on your side.
