Whenever theHogwarts Legacysequel is announced, it will be interesting to see what direction it takes. It’s possible the game will be set after the events of the previous release, and if that’s the case, fans have a couple of theories about what it might entail.
TheHarry Potterfranchise timeline was recently pointed out by Reddit user Jart618, who highlighted two specific points on the timeline. In 1891, around the timeHogwarts Legacyis set, an “extremely young Seeker” made it onto the Hogwarts Quidditch team, a title later taken by Harry Potter himself. It’s entirely possible that theHogwarts Legacysequel will feature Quidditch, as the popular sport was left out of the original game, and if so, this mysterious Seeker could be a character. Alternatively, if theHogwarts Legacysequel has players starting from scratch as a Year 1 Hogwarts student, maybe the player character ofHogwarts Legacy 2is the young Seeker.
Another point in theHarry Pottertimeline is highlighted by the Reddit post. 1892 is the year thatfuture Headmaster Albus Dumbledorestarted attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Considering this, it wouldn’t be out of the question for aHogwarts Legacysequel to feature Dumbledore as one of the game’s main characters.
This is assuming that aHogwarts Legacysequel will be set the year after the original game’s story wrapped up, as opposed to going in a completely different direction. There areother magical schools in the Wizarding World universethat the developers may look at instead. Alternatively, aHogwarts Legacysequel could pick a completely different time period to be set in, either well before the events of the original game or some point after the events of theHarry Potterbooks and movies. There are many possibilities when it comes to the eventualHogwarts Legacysequel, and it will be exciting to see what shape it takes whenever it’s announced.
