Summary

Once Humanis many things. A horror survival game, a pet taming and combat game, a story-driven RPG, and afarming simulatoramong others. With its free-to-play business model and engaging world map, it is a game that can be enjoyed by players that are fans of multiple different genres.

There are 5 main bosses, known as Great Ones inOnce Human. The main story arc guides the player to each of the monoliths where these bosses can be found in thissurvival shooter. Each of them has its own combat mechanics that the player needs to learn how to overcome in order to take the boss down.

Ravenous Hunter Is A Hard Boss In Once Human

5Ravenous Hunter

Monolith of Greed, Dayton Wetlands

TheRavenous Hunteris the first of the Great Ones that the player has to tackle as part of the main story arc inOnce Human. In many ways, Ravenous Hunter acts as a kind of tutorial for boss fights in the game, each of which has a specific mechanic the player has to uncover and counter.

When the player enters the instance to tackle this boss, it will be standing in the center of the room and can be attacked. However, once it has taken some damage, it will teleport to the small raised section at the back of the room and become immune to all incoming damage.

Treant Is A Hard Boss In Once Human

The player must then kill all the spawn pods that would have appeared on the main floor, but needs to take care, as these will begin spawning normal enemies as well. Once these have all been taken out, the Ravenous Hunter will teleport to the center of the room again, and can be attacked. This scenario repeats until the boss is dead. For players who want to save some ammo, the boss drops a large minigun on the floor during the fight, and this can be picked up and used.

4The Treant

Gaia Cliff Monolith, Broken Delta

The Treantis the easiest of all of the boss fights inOnce Human, as this Great One is very easy to understand, and doesn’t have a complex combat mechanic to overcome. When the player enters the instance, they are prompted to destroy three clumps of vines, which will cause the Treant to enter combat.

During the fight, the Treant will shoot large, slow-moving projectiles at the player, and normal enemies will continue to spawn randomly. The player will need to avoid the incoming projectiles, whilst dealing with the random spawns before they become problematic.

Arachsiam Is A Hard Boss In Once Human

This boss fight very much revolves around taking care of incoming threats, and shooting at the boss when the player is safe to do so, whilst keeping on the move. It might take some time, but this is the safest way to kill the Treant inOnce Human.

3Arachsiam

Mirage Monolith, Iron River

Arachsiamis a giant spider, and a difficult Great One to deal with inOnce Human. This is a tough fight at the level the player will be when the storyline sends them to the Mirage Monolith for the first time. Later on, when the player is leveled and fully geared, the fight is more annoying than difficult.

When the player engages Arachsiam in combat, once it has taken some damage, a mist will fall, and this is almost impossible to see through. A number of spider eggs will spawn at the edges of the map, and the boss will become immune to all damage until these eggs have been destroyed. The eggs spawn small spiders which can overwhelm the player if not dealt with.

Rabizex Is A Hard Boss In Once Human

Arachsiam will have climbed to the top of a pillar whilst the mist is in place. Once the eggs have been destroyed, the mist will clear and Arachsiam becomes vulnerable to damage again. If the player is quick, they can shoot Arachsiam off the pillar, and it will fall onto its back stunned for a short while. This mist mechanic repeats until Arachsiam is dead.

2Rabizex

Monolith of Thirst, Chalk Peak

Rabizexis a huge hound, and arguably the most dangerous of all of the Great Ones inOnce Humanwhen the player first encounters them. This is due to the complex combat mechanic the player has to overcome.

When the player engages Rabizex, it will begin taking damage until a certain level is reached. At this stage, it becomes immune to incoming damage apart from hits that target the two glowing patches on its shoulders. The player needs to shoot these out. While these patches are active, Rabizex will begin spawning small floating globes, which will shoot at the player. Shortly after, Rabizex turns into a giant spinning ball, and the player must hit the weak spot of the orb to stop it from exploding and doing high levels of AoE damage. This is repeated until Rabizex is dead.

Mensdevoran Is A Hard Boss In Once Human

With the high incoming damage from Rabizex itself, the orbs, and the devastating AoE attack, the player needs to keep mobile and heal often. Even at higher levels with good gear, this is still a fairly tough boss fight inOnce Human.

1Mensdevoran

Forsaken Monolith, Red Sands

Mensdevoran is the final boss inOnce Human, and this Great One requires a group to take down. It doesn’t deal extreme levels of damage, but it can soak up an awful lot. It is possible to solo this boss, but it will take thousands of rounds of ammo and will require a player to carry a backup weapon, as they will undoubtedly wear out their main weapon during the long fight.

For a group, this is still a long fight. There is a glowing area on Mensdevoran, which moves from its chest, to head, to hands, which is the only part of the boss that will take damage. The player needs to move into a position where they can target the currently active glowing patch, which means running backward and forward across the map many times.

Mensdevoran will use its arms to swipe across the map, doing significant damage to any player that does not get out of the way, or manage to time a jump to avoid the arm. Overall, this is a drawn-out fight, and it is worth bringing a few friends, as trying to solo it can become tedious once the combat mechanics for this encounter have been mastered.
