Some have speculated that this is no fault onHalo Infinite’s part as it had the best launch in the history of the franchise. There merely seems to be a shift in the type of games that people are deciding to stream on Twitch. Games likeFortnite,Call of Duty: Warzone,Valorant, andCS: GOare still raking in hundreds of thousands of viewers every month, whereas, traditional shooters likeBattlefield 2042,Call of Duty: Vanguard, andnowHalo Infiniteseem to be just barely scraping by.

Twitch viewers may have become more drawn to Battle Royale style games owing to the higher risk factor related to playing these games, as this can make viewing more exciting. Dying in a Battle Royale game can often mean the end of a match while dying in a traditional FPS means that players get to respawn and try again.
