Halo Infinitegave fans a small look at what to expect from the game’s campaign and multiplayer mode during Xbox’s showcase during E3 2021. However, some fans grew concerned because the presentation did not narrow downHalo Infinite’s release window beyond holiday 2021.

Halo Infinitewas originally intended to be a launch title for the Xbox Series X/S. However,Halo Infinitewas eventually delayed out of 2020 and given the new release window of Fall 2021. There have been rumors circulating aboutanother delay forHalo Infinitethroughout its development, but Xbox boss Phil Spencer has come out and assured players that they will haveHalo Infinitein their hands this holiday season.

The statement came from an episode of the Dropped Frames podcast that Phil Spencer appeared on. During the podcast,Halo Infinite’s progress came up, which led to Spencer’s comment thatHalo Infiniteis reaching the last stages of development. When asked about the game’s release date, Spencer said that the development team was committed to the currently set window and that the team knows a rough four-week range of when the game will likely be ready to release. He says thatHalo Infinitestill does not have a definite releasedate internally, but that the team will narrow it down over the course of the summer.

During the podcast, Spencer also said that the team is opting to play it safe revealing the release date. He says that they don’t want to set a date until they are positive that it is feasible and that delayingHalo Infiniteagain would feel like a defeat even if it only had to be moved back by a week or so. WithHalo Infinite’s rocky initial reception, as well as how massive of a game it is for the Xbox brand, it makes a lot of sense that the team would want to avoid yet another delay that may worry the game’s fans.

Regardless, there are many aspects ofHalo Infinitefor fans to be excited about. Not only will the game’s campaign function as a spiritual reboot of the series, but the looks given to the public regardingHalo Infinite’s multiplayermode have received a positive reaction thus far. Of course, there is no way to know just howHalo Infinitewill shape up until it releases later this year. Hopefully, the game will satisfy the manyHalofans when it does eventually release.

Halo Infinitereleases this Fall for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
