Summary
Melinöe’s weapons are going to be incredibly important inHades 2, and taking a look at mythology could spur some ideas for her arsenal. Since players will be tasked with embarking on a quest against Chronos inHades 2, Melinöe will need appropriately strong weapons to bring down the Titan. The firstHadesshowed off several ways for Zagreus to fight his way through the underworld, all of which could be upgraded into even stronger and more impressive forms. While the last game did plenty to impress,Hades 2can give Melinöe’s weapon selection its own flair.
Even before one finds thehidden weapon aspects inHades, Zagreus' selection of Infernal Arms is quite impressive. Ranging from a standard sword, to a spear based on his father’s signature bident, to the rifle-like Adamant Rail, Zagreus has a weapon for almost every sort of playstyle. Unlockable weapon aspects and boons collected during a run added a lot to the fun as well, giving every individual weapon a lot of variety in how they could be used. The Infernal Arms were just about as responsible forHades' success as its strong character writing, andHades 2will need something similarly impressive to stack up.

Hades 2 Has Rich Mythological Inspirations to Choose Weapons From
One thing that players can expect is forHades 2’s weapons to be based in mythology, similar to the first game’s. One good place to start would be with the Labrys. The Labrys was a double-headed axe that was not often used in real combat, but features regularly in folklore. Several Greek mythological figures wielded a Labrys, and it has also become a symbol of female goddesses and empowerment. A Labrys would work well as a slow-but-strong weapon option, especially since the firstHadeslacked an axe. While not as graceful as Melinöe’s revealed weapons, a Labrys would be a great addition to her arms.
Funny enough, another good option for the game is similar to one weapon alreadyconfirmed forHades 2. Melinöe is prominently seen wielding a dagger and sickle, so it would make sense to give her a full-sized scythe. There is the advantage of it being a visually impressive weapon, but it’s also quite important mythologically. It’s a famed weapon of the Grim Reaper, and players saw Thanatos use it frequently in the first game. In addition, a scythe was also used by Chronos himself, setting up a potential duel. The scythe would be rife for exciting weapon aspects inHades 2.
There is one weapon that could easily make a return from Zagreus' arsenal in the first game and helpHades 2expand on its weapon builds, and that is the bow. As Zagreus' main ranged weapon, it and it had several strong and useful boons. However, the bow had some potential aspects that went unused. Most obvious would be Artemis, who is closely associated with the bow, but had no weapon aspect in the first game. There are several other figures in and out of Greek mythology that used bows as well, such as Eros and Apollo, that give it a good reason to return.
If Melinöe’s adventure is going to be anything like the first game, then she will need to be highly skilled and well-equipped. Hopefullyfuture news regardingHades 2can shed more light on Melinöe’s weapons of choice in addition to other important aspects of the game. The game’s selection is off to a strong start with the revealed dagger and sickle and staff, both of which are distinctive and promise new playstyles already. In order to face down Chronos at the adventure’s end, Melinöe will likely need the best weapons that mythology can provide.
