As players progress through the main story ofGod of War Ragnarok, they will gain another weapon to add to their arsenal. This new weapon is a magical spearknown as the Draupnir Spear. Considering Kratos and his origin as a Spartan, adding a spear to the game certainly makes sense.
In spite of the fact that it is acquired halfway through the game, the Draupnir Spear can be upgraded just like the Leviathan Axe and the Blades of Chaos. Also like those two weapons, Draupnir Spear has its own unique resource that allows it to be upgraded. This resource is called Gale Flames, and here is where players can find them.

Where to Find Gale Flames
The most important thing thatGod of War Ragnarokplayers should be aware of is that they get fewer Gale Flames since they don’t get Draupnir Spear until much later on in the game. Because of this, there are only four Gale Flames in the entire game. Of these four Gale Flames, only one is obtained during the story and that isnear the end of the game. The other three can only be acquired by completing Favors.
One of the easier Favors is Nocturnal Predator, which can be started onceGod of War Ragnarokplayers unlock the Crater in Vanaheim. to unlock this area of Vanahiem, players will need to havecompleted Creatures of Prophecyand then pick up the Scent of Survival of Favor. Upon completing that Favor,God of War Ragnarokplayers will have access to the Crater.
One Gale Flame can only be obtained by acquiring all six Gale Sparks. Players can obtain Gale Sparks by finding and capturing Lost Lindwyrms. There are six in total, so once players have found them all they will get a Gale Flame. Players do not need to do anything to combine the Gale Sparks, it happens automatically.
The final Gale Flame is acquired by defeating the bosses summoned by the Berserker Gravestone at the Jarnsmida Pitmines in Svartalfheim. Since these bosses are especially difficult to beat, it is recommended that players pursue this Gale Flame last.
How to Use Gale Flames
OnceGod of War Ragnarokplayers manage to obtain a Gale Flame, they will need to go to the nearest blacksmith shop to upgrade the Draupnir Spear. Just like with the Leviathan Axeand the Blades of Chaos, players do not need any other resources to upgrade the Draupnir Spear beyond Gale Flames.
When upgrading the Draupnir Spear with Gale Flames, the level of the weapon will increase. Not only that, but the Luck stat on Draupnir will improve as well. Finally, as players upgrade Draupnir Spear the appearance of the weapon will gradually change as well.
