The photo in question is from episode 5 ofLoki, where a group of villainous Loki variants led by President Loki confront the 2012 Loki, alligator Loki, Kid Loki, and others. Those that have played through the 2018God of Wargame know about the big twist involving Kratos' son Atreus. It’s revealed by the end of the game thatAtreus is Loki, the destined God of Mischief, though he hasn’t quite lived up to that mantle just yet. This essentially makes Atreus yet another Loki “variant,” and so Reddit user Homelss_Emperor has photoshopped him into the scene among the other Lokis.
Of course, Loki inGod of Waris quite a bit different than the version of the Norse God seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Loki inGod of Waris still a child and doesn’t really embody any of the characteristics that one usually associates with the being from Norse mythology. However, it’s quite possible that will change with theupcomingGod of War: Ragnarokgame, especially since it seems other major Norse mythological figures are set to join the franchise.
God of War’s secret endingfeatures a brief cameo from Thor, the God of Thunder and Loki’s “brother.” It stands to reason that Thor will be a major antagonist in the nextGod of Wargame, and so it could begin the conflict between him and Loki. It’s also possible that Odin will play a role in the nextGod of Wargame, but then again, Sony Santa Monica may instead save him for the inevitable third game in this new take on the series.
All fans can do at this time is wait for Sony Santa Monica to share more information. There are rumors that aGod of War: Ragnaroktrailercould come as soon as next month, though, so hopefully the wait won’t be a long one.
