WhenGod of War: Ragnarokwas announced earlier last year, a significant portion of the gaming community was absolutely ecstatic. Given the immense amount of success and popularityGod of War (2018)received back when it first released,God of War: Ragnaroklooks to step things up in a major way. Though there sadly has not been much by way of official news.
Since the release ofGod of War: Ragnarok’s teaser trailer, the only real piece of definitive information that the gaming community has managed to glean is that the game is in development. Everything else for the past several months has mostly been fan speculation and Cory Barlog, the director ofGod of War, teasing fans every so often. A trend that the game director has continued by way of a certain celebrity.

In response to a tweet made by none other thanHalle Berry, wherein she asked her Twitter followers to tell her something she didn’t know, Barlog responded by saying “I know who blew the horn.” This statement, of course, referring to some unknown person blowing the horn of the World Serpent inGod of Warwhile Kratos was in the middle of saving his son Atreus. The third-party horn blowing has been a point of speculation amongst fans ever since the game first released.
Cory Barloglater responded by saying that Halle Berry would be the only person he would tell the secret to. While this doesn’t really explain anything, it does give fans at least some information to work with. The most important of which being that whoever blew the horn of the World Serpent will most likely play a fairly key role inGod of War: Ragnarok.
However, it is rather troubling to see that there hasn’t been much by way of official information regardingGod of War: Ragnarok. Not even an official trailer that’s more substantial than the teaser trailer released last year. In fact, some have actually predicted thatGod of War: Ragnarokmay not meet its 2021 release date.
Then again, this situation at the very least doesn’t seem to be similar toMetroid Prime 4, where the game hasn’t even been mentioned for the last several years. It might be best for fans to just trust that Barlog and the other developers over at Santa Monica Studio are working diligently to release the game at the studio’s pace. Barlog’s mentality when it comes to video game releases has always been “it’ll be out when it’s done” and given the recent fiasco withCyberpunk 2077, that sentiment is understandable.
