One of the best qualities of tales inGhost of Tsushimais that they are almost always tied narratively to the overarching storyline of the game. Some mainly involve combat, while others take a more investigative approach.
Hidden in Snow is a side tale available during Act 3 in the Kamiagata region of Tsushima Island. Players will need to uncover the mysteries surrounding events at Sago Mill and the secret the townsfolk seem to be hiding from Jin.
How to Start Hidden in Snow in Ghost of Tsushima
The ‘Hidden in Snow’ Tale starts as soon as Jin enters Sago Mill from the main bridge leading into the village. A quest marker may also appear if he hears a rumor about the strange happenings in the area from a Peasant at a Survivor camp.
When players enter Sago Mill, they’ll see a man running away from them. Jin will comment, ‘Why is he running away?’ and the quest Hidden in Snow will immediately start.
AGolden Birdmay also lead to the quest area.
Where to Find Sota in Ghost of Tsushima
To the right of the bridge, there are three buildings in a row right next to each other. You’ll find a male NPC in each one, but all of them will only point to Sota, the dye master, as someone you can talk to.
Sota is a bald man in yellow clothing. He can be found in the second building, next to the dye pools, but he won’t appear until you have exhausted dialogue with the other men. When he appears, talk to him to progress the quest.
How to Investigate the Town
After talking to Sota, circle around to the back of the dye houses to find a peasant traveler wearing a straw hat and fur jacket. He should be standing on the side of the road and will call out to Jin as he passes by. Follow him and he will lead players to the northern edge of Sago Mill where he suspects something fishy is going on.
Immediately to the Peasant’s right, there will be asmall hut with two ‘Examine’ points. One is a vat where a person seems to have drowned, and the second is the rope above the vat. To the north, there will beanother building with two more inspection pointsright next to each other. Bloody female clothes and a box someone was imprisoned in. In the last building, Jin will find dumped dead bodies of a group of men killed with weapons.
Next, the quest marker will appear above the central garden with the red-leaved tree. The clue here is aset of footprints at the edge of the garden, directly in front of the third building. Following the footprints will lead Jin to a farm directly to the north of Sago Mill. There will be a group of women held captive by some Mongols. Kill the Mongols quickly and prevent any of the hostages from dying to save all the women. Afterward, talk to the women to discover that the men of Sago Mill voluntarily gave them up to the Mongols to avoid death.

Hidden in Snow Tale Rewards in Ghost of Tsushima
Enraged, Jin returns to Sago Mill and calls out all the men to demand justice. Sota will step forward and claim he was the sole one responsible, and he should be the one to pay the price.
