In Version 3.0,Genshin Impactintroduced the beautiful region of Sumeru, and with it, one of the most frustrating hidden achievements yet. The Lengthy Reunion is a hidden achievement that will task the player with following a non-hostile sumpter beast from Vissudha Field, Sumeru to Ashavan Realm, Sumeru. Much like its name implies, the achievement is pretty lengthy in relation to other hidden achievements, and there are a lot of factors outside the player’s control that can go wrong while attempting to earn it. Completing The Lengthy Reunion hidden achievement will earn the player 5 Primogems like most other achievements, but will also award the player with an additional Exquisite Chest.
Where to Start the Sumeru Sumpter Beast Achievement: The Lengthy Reunion
To begin, players should head to the Statue of the Sevenlocated in the center of Vissudha Field, in between Sumeru City and the Lost Nursery. From here, players should head down the hill toward the nearby path to the southeast, where they’ll find the Sumpter Beast they need to follow heading toward them. Watch out, as there are some Rishboland Tigers nearby.
Following the Sumpter Beast will be a relatively long and slow process, and falling too behind will make it respawn (and thus players must start over), so make sure you are equipped to spend some time following the beast closely. The beast will not be aggressive toward the player unless they attack it, and killing it accidentally will result in having to try again after it respawns in 12 hours.

Following the Sumpter Beast: The Lengthy Reunion
Once the player has been following the Sumpter Beast for a little while, players will notice that the beast will walk through a group of enemies. These enemies will not attack the Sumpter Beast, but they will attack the player if they get too close, so the options are either to avoid the enemies or fight them.
The Sumpter Beast will walk through a total ofseven enemy groups, so should the player wish to fight these enemies, it is likely best to follow the path and clear out the enemies prior to beginning the hike with the beast. Should players opt to avoid the enemies, staying out of their attack radius without going too far as to de-spawn the Sumpter Beast isn’t the most difficult thing in the world, but caution is advised.
If the player wishes to clear out the enemies while walking with the Sumpter Beast, be very careful about which characters are used to fight, as characters with large AOEs (such as Ganyu and Yanfei) or with their own random targeting (such as Tighnari, Yoimiya, Fischl and Yae Miko) are very likely to attack the Sumpter Beast accidentally. The types of enemies encountered on the journey will include Eremites, Treasure Hoarders, and Fungi (as well as a Withering Zone if it has not already been cleared!).
If theplayer has not already cleared the Withering Zonethat the Sumpter Beast walks through, be warned that it may make the creature hostile! If this happens, do not panic and do not kill the beast, simply wait for it de-aggravate and the journey will continue.
The Ending of the Sumper Beast’s Journey: The Lengthy Reunion

Upon reaching the end of the journey, the Sumpter Beast will return to its owner in Ashavan Realm. The owner will bewaiting in an Eremite camp full of enemies, so players should be prepared to take on the camp while continuing to not hurt the Sumpter Beast.
While defeating the owner should theoretically be the end of the journey and some players will be able to walk away with the chest and the achievement, there appears to be a relatively high chance that the owner simply will not spawn! In fact, this glitch happened to us while preparing this guide. Unfortunately, the only thing to do at this point is to start over, either by heading back to the Statue of the Seven or by killing the Sumpter Beast and waiting for it to respawn. There is no information on what causes this glitch, but it is one of the aspects that make The Lengthy Reunion one of the most painful hidden achievements inGenshin Impact.
