A newGenshin Impactleak has confirmed a longstanding rumor about the status of the Version 3.8 update, expected to launch in July. With the HoYoverse RPG seemingly beginning to wind down the story of the Dendro Archon’s region, many fans have begun to look ahead towards the future of the game.The fifth major region of Fontaineis heavily rumored to be coming to the game later this year, centralized around water and technology. Now, fans have a better idea of when Fontaine will arrive to the playable area.Despite its debut still being months away, Fontaine has already seen a plethora of leaks detailing the domain ofGenshin Impact’s Hydro Archon. Fontaine is said to be one of the most technologically advanced regions of Teyvat with the Kamera gadget originating from the region. Leaks have already teased several characters hailing from Fontaine planned to be introduced following the region’s addition, with multiple NPCs from Fontaine already appearing. Now, a new leak has revealed the planned end ofGenshin Impact’s ongoing Sumeru cycle.RELATED:Genshin Impact Leak Possibly Shows First Fontaine ModelA recent update fromGenshin Impactleaker Tao confirms previous rumors about the status of the game’s Version 3.8 update, currently expected to arrive in July. Tao would reveal that Version 3.8 is planned to be the final update in the RPG’s Sumeru cycle withVersion 4.0 set to launchfollowing its conclusion. The release cycle would follow HoYoverse’s previous Inazuma patch schedule from last year with Sumeru’s debut coming directly following the Version 2.8 update. HoYoverse has yet to officially confirm Fontaine’s release window.

While Version 3.8 is set to be the end of the Sumeru cycle, leaks have already teased plenty of major events planned for the patch. Version 3.8 is rumored to introduce a new limited-time region in a similar vein to the Golden Apple Archipelago with an event starring Klee and Eula among others.Klee is expected to receive her first skinduring the event alongside rumors that free starter character Kaeya will also be getting a skin. Rumors have also claimed Eula will feature on a re-run banner during the update, breaking her long drought with the limited rotation.

The launch of Fontaine later this year is expected to bring a significant amount of content toGenshin Impactover its first few updates. Leaks have already begun to share details about thegameplay for some of Fontaine’s first characterslike Lyney, Lynette, and even Hydro Archon Focalors. A new member of the Fatui is also heavily rumored to become playable during the Fontaine update cycle. HoYoverse looks to have plenty in store forGenshin Impactfans through the end of Sumeru, the launch of Fontaine, and beyond.
