Summary
AsFortnite’s Chapter 5 Season 3 update draws nearer, a prominentFortniteleaker recently summarized many of the known and heavily suspected changes coming with the major update.Fortnite’s Season 3 is expected to begin shortly after Season 2’s conclusion on May 24.
In April, aleakedFortniteroadmapseemed to reveal many of the themes and crossovers coming in future Seasons this year. These included a post-apocalyptic theme for Season 3, another Fortnite OG phase in November, and crossovers with popular franchises likePirates of the Caribbean. However, the leaked roadmap did not include more particular details of future updates, like in-game events or map changes, but recent developments have shined a brighter light on what fans can expect to see in Season 3.

ProminentFortniteleaker Hypex took to Twitter to share his predictions forFortnite’s Season 3 update. Along with its post-apocalyptic theme, an image seen in the leaked roadmap seemed to suggest that Season 3 will introduce a steam train and possibly armored vehicles as well. As for in-game events,Hypex shared a leaked videoshowing a massive sandstorm that will appear on the edge ofFortnite’s map leading up to the launch of the next Season. The sandstorm, along with the roadmap’s sandy image for Season 3, seems to strongly suggest thatFortnite’s map will receive a desert-themed makeover sometime in late May, although it’s still unclear how drastic the map changes will be. Additionally, Season 3 will apparently feature collaborations with Metallica,Fall Guys,Pirates of the Caribbean, and possibly more.
Fortnite’s Season 3 Leaks
The leaker also said that Season 3 will introduce a helpful UI change toFortnite’s in-game shop by adding individual timers for each item, a change that will probably be much less controversial than other recentlyleakedFortniteUI changes. It’s also possible that Season 3 will introduce new weapons and gameplay mechanics, but these haven’t been revealed or reliably leaked yet.
As for future updates beyond Season 3, it seems thatMarvel’s Galactus could be featuredin an in-game event later this year. Based on the leaked roadmap,Fortnitewill introduce a Marvel-themed Season in August, so the new Galactus leak seems to line up with the older one.
It also seems thatLoki will return toFortnitethis year. It’s unclear when exactly the skin will be released, so fans may have to wait untilFortnite’s Marvel Season to purchase the popular character’s newest look.
