Chapter 5 introduced some significant changes to the popular battle royale, such as slowing down movement speeds. Although this change wasn’t received well at first,Fortniteintroduced additional tweaks to alleviate these new adjustments, likeslowing down the game’s storm circles. It seems thatFortnitewill continue to get new gameplay mechanics as the season progresses, such as a set of interesting new augments.

Fortniteleaker iFireMonkey revealed on their Twitter account that Chapter 5 will see at least four new augments added to the game. These are Bars in Storm (gain 150 bars while in the storm), Crashpad Grant (gives user a crashpad), Elimination Slap (user gains slap effect after each elimination), and Hide N' Heal (slowly regain health and shield up to 100 HP + 50 Shield while not in combat). Users commenting underneath the tweet expressed excitement over the new Hide N' Heal augment in particular, which will give users a significant advantage by not needing to prioritize health and shield items in their inventory as much. However, it should be noted that the exact speed at which Hide N' Heal users regain health and shields is not known yet, and it may be quite slow.
Players can choose an augment every two-and-a-half minutes, and can stack up to four augments by the end of a match. Each augment offers a unique advantagethat players can mold their play style around for that specific match, creating a fun way to enjoyFortnite.
