Fortnitemares is back, and spookier than ever. The annualFortniteHalloween event brings a bout of new collab characters to the mix, and quests that players can sink their teeth into for some sweet XP and free rewards, regardless of whether players haveFortnite’s current Battle Passfor Chapter 4, Season 4, or not.
There are many quests set to arrive on theFortniteisland with Fortnitemares 2023, and the first, Blood Moon Rising, was released on the same day as the Fortnitemares update. Players have quite some time to complete these quests, but they might want to hurry so as to not be overwhelmed.
Updated on Jun 06, 2025, by Jake Fillery:Now that all Fortnitemares 2023 quests have been successfully uploaded into the Quest Tab in Fortnite, players can start their way through the piles of quests to get their hands on bouts of XP and a few exclusive items, and prepare themselves for the spooks of Fortnitemares 2024, all whilst they await Chapter 4, Season 5, which promises some truly “OG” experiences.
All Fortnitemares 2023 Quests
Players will find the information for every Fortnitemares 2023 quest and how to complete them. It’s worth noting that not every Fortnitemares quest has been released just yet, so players are going to have to wait a few days between quest activations, but that information is also listed below:
Blood Moon Rising Quests
The Blood Moon Rising quests were released on July 10, 2025.
How to Complete
Reward
Gain full shields within 30 seconds of taking damage from opponents (1)
Get into a fight with an enemy, whether real or an NPC, and eliminate them after taking damage, to quickly use 2 mini shields and a big shield to gain 100 shields.
Hit enemy players from 30 or more meters (13)
Can be completed on NPC enemies or real players. The easiest way to do this is to use a scoped weapon and the ping system to measure distance.
Search a Ghost Buried Chest or Rare Chest (1)
Ghost Buried Chests are new to Fortnitemares and can be found around the map with a ghost pointing in the direction of buried treasure that players need to pickaxe to free. Alternatively, a Rare Chest can be found in vaults.
Sprint distance within 15 seconds of ringing doorbells (25)
Head to locations like Slappy Shores to press the action button on a doorbell, and then sprint away.
Travel distance with a Witch Broom (500)
The Witch Broomis an item in Fortnitemares 2023 found on the floor or as chest loot. it is reusable, with a cooldown of 20 seconds.
Visit Eclipsed Estate or Relentless Retreat (1)
Eclipsed Estate is in the upper left of the map, and Relentless Retreat is in the lower left of the map. Visiting either of these locations completes the quest.
Stage 1 of 5 - Earn XP in Creator Made Experiences (30,000)
This stage is repeated 5 times. Players need to earn 30,000 XP in each stage to progress. The easiest way to do these steps is through The Pit, from creator geerzy.
Tricks & Treats Quests
The Trick & Treats quests were released on Jun 23, 2025.
Assist in destroying zombie road signs (3)
Players will find yellow road signs with a zombie printed on them near Frenzy Fields, Shattered Labs, and other biomes more controlled by roads. Simply follow the roads and run over these signs or use a pickaxe to destroy them.
Collect candy in different matches (3)
Players can find candy in chests or by looting pumpkin bowls found near houses. Players will need to collect one candy per three matches.
Deal damage to enemy players before the first Storm Circle closes (100)
The easiest way to do this is by dropping from the Battle Bus as soon as players can and following another player to attack them.
Eliminate opponents with a Wood Stake Shotgun or a Pumpkin Launcher (5)
Both of these weapons are random loot, and players will just need to use them consistently or switch to them to eliminate a downed player or use them on AI enemies.
This stage repeats 5 times, and players will need to earn 30,000 XP in Creator Made Experience for each stage. Maps like The Pit are a great help.
Spooky Show Off Quests
The Spooky Show Off quests were released on June 27, 2025.
Assist in destroying cameras or turrets (5)
Players can find plenty of cameras and turrets at Ecliped Estate, simply destroy them with weapons or a pickaxe.
Assist in stealing items from a Vault Display Case (2)
It’s easy to find Vault Display Cases atRelentless Retreat and Sanguine Suites.
Deal damage to opponents while the Blood Moon is out (200)
In the night cycle, a Blood Moon will appear, and players just need to fight other players or NPCs to complete this quest.
Score 50,000 points in the same trick on a Dirt Bike (1)
Locate a Dirt Bike on the map and try and find an area with a big drop. The easiest way to get 50,000 is to spin the bike in the air to increase the multiplier bonus. Players must land the bike to complete the score.
Completed The Trick & Treats Creator Made Experiences challenges in the prior quest tabs, but like before, The Pit is the easiest choice.
High Stakes Revenge Quests
The High Stakes Revenge quests were released on July 19, 2025.
Defeat Countess Daraku in a duel, or speak to her after she is defeated (1)
Players can find Countess Daraku to the right of Eclipsed Estate. She is hostile, so bring a good weapon, or more.
Destroy structures or objects with a Pumpkin Launcher (30)
Players can find a Pumpkin Launcher in random locations or chests, and simply use Explosive Ammo to fire it at structures and objects.
Hit headshots with a Twin Mag Assault Rifle or Wood Stake Shotgun (10)
Both of these weapons are fairly common finds in the map thanks to random loot spots with chests and floor spawns. Players can easily get their headshots on downed enemies or NPC enemies.
Light campfires (2)
This will be easy enough, as campfires are scattered throughout the map, and players just need to hold the action button to light one.
Players need to complete Spooky Show Off Creator Made Experiences to proceed with this challenge.
Be The Nightmare Quests
The Be The Nightmare quests were released on June 12, 2025.
Burst through a door under the effect of Pepper Mint (1)
Pepper Mint is a Halloween candy found in plastic pumpkins. It’s easy to find them at Slappy Shores, and then once consumed, players just need to sprint towards a closed door to burst through it.
Collect ammo from eliminated opponents (100)
After eliminating an enemy, run over their body to take their loot and consume their ammo. Most players should have over 100 ammo, but just keep eliminating players until it’s done.
Collect weapons from eliminated opponents (5)
After eliminating someone, pick up their loot. Players do not need to use their loot, but as long as they pick it up from the enemy they eliminated, then it will count towards progress.
Consume candy (1)
Candy is found in the plastic pumpkins around houses and other structures, simply consume any of them.
Players need to complete The High Stakes Revenge Creator Made Experiences to proceed with this challenge.
Sneak Like Shadow Quests
The Sneak Like Shadow quests were released on June 25, 2025.
Deal damage to opponents with Legendary or higher rarity weapons (500)
Don a disguise by talking to Characters (1)
Head to Frenzy Fields and speak to Nolan Chance to purchase the Prop Disguise for 37 Gold.
Eliminate Low Card Guards (3)
Low Card Guards are NPC enemies that can be found at the Eclipsed Estate.
Travel from Secluded Spire to The Hall of Whispers without touching water
When activating the quest, players can find Secluded Spire West of Slappy Shores. Simply stay on the roads of use items like the Witch Broom to get to The Hall of Whispers, found in the North West region of Slappy Shores in the snow.
Complete the prior Be The Nightmare Creator Made Experience quest to unlock this one.
Kado Thorne’s Last Stand Quests
The Kado Thorne’s Last Stand quests were released on June 06, 2025.
Destroy structures at Thorne’s Strongholds (20)
Players can find Thorne’s Strongholds at these locations: Eclipsed Estate, Slappy Shores, Rumble Ruins, Sanguine Suites, Mega City, Relentless Retreat. Just use a Pickaxe/Harvesting Tool on structures.
Help in defeating Kado Thorne (1)
Located in the basement of Eclipsed Estate, players can find the vampiric lord, Kado Thorne. Even getting one shot on the NPC will work, as long as he is eliminated. It’s a challenge alone, so try a squad, but failing that, keep behind cover and at a distance.
Search a Ghost Buried Chest or Rare Chest and reach 20 players remaining (2)
This two-step quest might be hard for some, but Ghost Buried Chests can be found in a few areas, with a ghost NPC pointing to a piece of dirt. Players need to pickaxe this location to reveal and open the chest, or just open a Rare Chest easily found in vaults. The next part entails getting in the top 20 players, so just hide and wait it out.
Thank the Bus Driver (5)
Players will need to enter 5 different games to complete this, but it’s simple enough, as long as they press Down on the D-Pad before dropping from the Battle Bus.
Complete the Sneak Like Shadow Creator Made Experience quest to unlock this one, and then enter some XP-heavy game modes like The Pit.
All Fortnitemare 2023 Rewards
Players will receive the following cosmetic rewards for completing the Fortnitemares 2023 quests, with the best of the bunch being the XP gains, unique pickaxe, and the glider. All of these items are exclusive to Fortnitemares 2023, and playersonly have until Jul 22, 2025, 2 AM ETto complete them all.
