One of the ways thatFar Cry 6has tried to stay fresh and new since it released in October is to have a veritable bushel of add-ons, DLC, and crossovers. It turns out that one of the previously announced crossover events thatcenters onStranger Thingsis finally going to arrive this week.TheStranger Thingscrossover — called “The Vanishing” — is actually the third piece of crossover DLC that followed downloadable contentfeaturing Danny Trejo and Rambo. This new content based on the Netflix original series will see players venture into the hell-like realm of the Upside Down in search of their dog, the beloved Chorizo.RELATED:Hilarious Far Cry 6 Glitch Ruins CutsceneTheFar Cry 6crossover event withStranger Thingswas announced last fall but when exactly it would arrive was then mostly left up in the air. The game’s official Twitter account announced on the social media platform that players can get their hands on the content starting on March 24. The announcement tweet came with a short teaser video that shared information about when users could play the crossover content as well as an image ofFar Cry6’s protagonist Dani Rojas holding a flashlight and looking like she is ready to head to the Upside Down.
It appears that Ubisoft is wanting to make it easier for more people to giveFar Cry 6and everything it has to offera try for at least a few days. Alongside the announcement that theStranger Thingscontent is going live on March 24, the tweet also let it be known that the release will kick off a free-play weekend.
That means thatFar Cry 6, as well as this particular new content will be available for download starting on March 24 and can be played until March 27 free of charge. Ubisoft is also offering an incentive to purchase the game for those who might give it a go and decide they’d like to play it beyond this weekend. The company is offering a 50 percent discount on the game and a 35 percent discount on the season pass.
In addition to being able to play the Danny Trejo, Rambo, and Vanishing missions, those who buy the season pass will also be able to get access to DLC that includes the bosses from some of the previousFar Crygames. In those particular DLC packs, users will actually get to play as Joseph Seed fromFar Cry 5, Pagan Min fromFar Cry 4and Vaas Montenegro fromFar Cry 3.
Far Cry 6is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
