Fallout 76has launched its yearly Holiday Scorched event which brings holiday festivities and unique loot to post-nuclear Appalachia.Fallout 76players have a limited time to seek out red-suited Scorched who drop presents, and they can also craft their own gifts with wrapping paper for a chance at rare rewards.

It’s well-known in the gaming community thatFallout 76suffered from a rough launchdespite the hype for a multiplayer game in theFalloutfranchise. In those early days, the game was riddled with bugs, performance issues, and glitches that outnumbered the game’s positive qualities. Bethesda didn’t give up, however, and the studio has spent the years sinceFallout 76’s release pushing major updates that address the game’s glaring issues while introducing important additions. Bethesda’s efforts have borne fruit recently, withFallout 76finally developing a more positive reputation amid a growing player base. With more updates and events on the horizon, things are finally looking up forFallout 76.

As an online live-service game,Fallout 76tends to celebrate holidays and seasons with its own in-game events like theFallout 76Halloween eventearlier this year. Continuing its yearly tradition, the game has just launched its Holiday Scorched event celebrating the winter holiday season. From December 20 until January 3, Santa-suited Scorched can be found throughout Appalachia and can be tracked down thanks to the sound of their sleigh bells. These special Scorched enemies drop Small Holiday Gifts, Holiday Gifts, and Large Holiday Gifts that contain holiday rewards, holiday currency, and rare taxidermy plans.

In addition to the dropped rewards, players can also craft their own handmade holiday gifts at the Tinker’s Workbench. Players will need adhesive and gift wrap, and the latter can be purchased from Vendor Bots or Grahm during the event. Vendors usually only sell one of each gift wrap, so players may need to server-hop to gather a large supply of them. These gifts can then be opened for a chance to acquire holiday rewards including a power armor paint, a special Vault 51 jumpsuit, and decorations forFallout 76’s CAMPslike lamps, taxidermy displays, and rugs.

Besides seasonal holiday events, the game occasionally features interesting events like theFallout 76Alien Eventwhich brought alien invaders into Appalachia. New content like The Pitt and Nuka-World are just some of the recent additions that were part of the game’s 2022 roadmap, and Bethesda’s 5-year plan forFallout 76has content up to 2025 is already planned out.
