AnOverwatch 2player has clipped the moment in a multiplayer match in which they make Junkrat’s trap even deadlier with a unique pairing with an emote. While the release ofOverwatch 2introduced new heroesto the roster like Junker Queen, Kiriko, and Sojourn, Junkrat is among the roster from the original title that carried over, making some fans of the DPS character a lot more seasoned than others.
Reddit user Zbady20 recently shared anOverwatch 2clip in which they combine Junkrat’s lounging emote with the character’s steel trap on the Junkertown map to hilarious effect. Junkertown was added to the originalOverwatchmap rotation in September 2017, and it quickly became a fan favorite in spite of the fact that it had a spawn room that could be difficult to escape from. Because of the placement of an overhanging bridge near the attacker spawn point is pretty ideal for Junkrat’s grenade launcher, many players hang back while the enemies pour out, but this player had a more self-destructive idea.

Zbady20’s Reddit clip has garnered over 12,000 upvotes, and it begins with the player laying down a steel trap asOverwatch 2hero Junkrat, immediately followed by bringing up the emote selection page. Laying down on the trap with the lounging emote, the Junkrat waits for the clock to countdown for the enemies to be able to escape their spawn room. Instead of defending themselves, this Junkrat is quickly killed by a seemingly perplexed Roadhog at the same time that a Brigitte steps into the trap, causing a funny death with the hero’s death grenades.
An unsuspecting Genji that was about to escape theOverwatch 2Junkertownspawn room with the Roadhog that survived the death grenade explosion was caught in the crossfire, and they die just like the Brigitte. With two kills on the attacking team, Zbady20 also cut significantly into Roadhog’s health pool with the entertaining trap idea that made it even deadlier. Because this Junkrat play sacrificed one hero for two, it may be a worthy tactic for competitive players that are trying to capitalize on every second of gameplay despite many responses to Zbady20’s video expressing entertainment by the unexpected results.
As some players criticized the attacking Roadhog in Zbady20’s clip, others leaped to their defense and recommended that noOverwatch 2teamexit a spawn room like the trio of characters in the video did. One player noted the disrespect in Zbady20 using the lounging emote to get their effective death play, while another celebrated the utility of the resting position.
Overwatch 2is available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
