An unfortunate circumstance occurs as oneElden Ringplayer accidentally scares their cooperator to their death, leaving them alone. While there’s plenty to talk about ofElden Ring’s PvP, there is another aspect to FromSoftware’s award-winning action RPG that is just as important: the ability to share the challenging experience with a couple of others in co-op. Whether it’s letting the host get the final hit onElden Ring’s Malenia, or just helping them get through the game, there are plenty of players willing to assist those in need as long as they don’t get scared. In this case, the host scared the co-op partner just a little too much.

Leyndell, Royal Capital is one of the more prominent locations inElden Ring, being a massive city to explore that is full of separate dungeons andLeyndell Knights with their frustrating Greatbows. It is also a pretty good place for not just invasions, but co-op battles with the many bosses that inhabit it as well. Of course, one of the more important places that most new players should invite a co-op partner is the area just after the Queen’s Bedchamber, on the steps before the fight with Morgott, the Omen King.

It is here that the player of thisElden Ringstory met their co-op partner, and then scared them to their death. Posting to r/Eldenring, user PaulOnion906 uploaded a clip of them summoning a cooperator into their world just before the next boss fight. The person they summoned was a player who simply named themselves S T R E N G T H. This cooperator greets them by jump attacking them with their dual swords, then as the host greets them with a shout, the cooperator turns around and jump attacks off the ledge to their death - leaving the player to fend for themselves.

In the comments, many users pointed out that the cooperator’s name meant that they had put all their points into the Strength stat, and very few into theirintelligence stat which can still make a stellar magic build. However, it seems this cooperator had no intention of magic, going for the dual swords that carried them off the ledge and to their death. Yet, it could also be likely this is just a player who gets into other hosts worlds, and then causes themselves to die.

When it comes toElden Ring’s multiplayer, no one truly knows who they will come across. It can be aplayer dressed up entirely as Itachi fromNaruto, or just someone who likes to jump off ledges. What makes the game so interesting is the amount of experiences one player can have - experiences that don’t have to end when the credits roll.

Elden Ringis available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
