Sakurajima is home to dozens of sakura trees and shrines, giving the aesthetic of a peaceful surrounding inPalworld. While there are plenty of hostile pals and enemy characters roaming the area, one pal who won’t cause too much of a stir is Dogen, a neutral-type pal who believes in peace and forgiveness.
Dogen is aneutral-type palthat takes the form of a dog capable of floating in midair. As it meditates, Dogen reflects upon its confrontations with its own desires. Dogen is a peaceful pal who won’t initiate hostility towards players, and they can be seen praying for any fallen pals that have met their end.
Where to Find and Catch Dogen in Palworld
Dogen Location
Dogen can be found in the main area of the Sakurajima region, pacing around and minding its own business. In order to encounter Dogen, players must first unlock one of the fast travel waypoints in the Sakurajima region. With the island being separated fromthe mainPalworldmapby a large body of water, players will require a flying or surfing mount to access the flower-petal island.
Players can take their time with catching Dogen and making sure they have the correct tools to set up the eventual addition to their paldeck. It’s advised that using an Ultimate Sphere and reducing Dogen’s HP to 1 will give the best odds at catching it, though, during the initial shake sequence, Dogen’s catch rate will top out at 50%. Be sure to bring along plenty of Ultimate Spheres, just in case.
Although peaceful and kindhearted, Dogen is a fierce warrior with a good combination of powerful attacks. Should it break out of the first capture attempt, it will be time to prepare for a battle that will require the best armor available. Dogen may be a neutral-type pal with no other elemental bonus, but they can still pack a punch.
While Dogen may not be hostile, the rest of the pals and enemies taking up the space in Sakurajima certainly are. Luckily, Dogen can be found in several spots, most of the time alone, so making sure to isolate Dogen before attempting to catch it is the best way to ensure survival.
Dogen Skills & Work Suitability, Explained
Known as the prayer pal, Dogen’s partner skill,Homeward Prayer, certainly pays tribute to its nature. When players activate this partner skill, Dogen will direct the player to the closest base in order to escape danger and re-group. For players with multiple bases set up across the map, this can prove to be especially helpful, especially when players run out of essential items, like pal spheres or ammo.
Ideally, Dogen is a pal players will want to keep busy back at the base. Its Level 3 Handiwork makes Dogen one of the best of its class. Adding Level 2 Gathering, Transporting, and Lumbering, along with a Level 1Medicine Production work suitability, helps create one of the most well-rounded worker pals inPalworld. When it goes to sleep, it drifts away while floating in the air, giving off a blissful aura.
The only drawback to Dogen’s partner skill is that it can’t be used in dungeons. This shouldn’t be a problem for players who bring along Prixter, whose partner skill allows players to seek the nearest exit while inside dungeons. Having both in the team at once helps set up a great way to avoid getting lost or falling into a deadly trap.
