How to Complete “Village Project: Gear Loose and Fancy Free”
Scrooge McDuck has exciting information to share with players that he believes will help themrake in the Star Coins. He reveals that many simple tasks on Eternity Isle were once automated through the use ofAncient Machines. The player can rebuild these machines using parts they gather using the Royal Hourglass’s Timebending ability. Here’s what players need to do.
Upgrade the Royal Hourglass to Level 1
Before the player can construct Ancient Machines, they must first upgrade the Royal Hourglass to Level 1 at theTimebending Table. Upgrading the Royal Hourglass costs Mist, Eternity Isle’s version of the Valley’s Dreamlight currency.Mist can be obtainedfrom Timebending, removing obstacles throughout the Isle, and completing Mist Duties. Upgrading the Royal Hourglass to Level 1 costs5000 Mist.
Craft Any Ancient Machine at the Timebending Table
Once the Royal Hourglass has been upgraded, a handful of new recipes are unlocked at the Timebending Table, including those for three basic Ancient Machines. Ancient Machines have three levels that can be crafted, each requiring the previous machine along with specific materials obtained via Timebending. To complete this objective, the player can craft any Ancient Machine they’d like.
With the Royal Hourglass at Level 1, players can craft only the lowest-level version of an Ancient Machine. This device requiresAncient Core (Level 1), a Timebending Part that players have a chance to obtain via Timebending. The higher-level machines require equal-level Ancient Cores, requiring further upgrades to the Royal Hourglass to obtain.

Place an Ancient Machine in the Glittering Dunes
Ancient Machines are functional furniture items thatcan be placedlike any other decor from the Furniture menu. For the sake of completing the quest, Scrooge McDuck requires the player to place an Ancient Machine within the Glittering Dunes biome. Ancient Machines can be found in the “Utilities” category of the Furniture Menu.
Place an Ancient Machine anywhere in the Glittering Dunes, then speak with Scrooge McDuck to complete the quest. He rewards the player with 500 Mist and an Ancient Core (Level 1). Once the quest is completed, the player can remove the Ancient Machine from the Glittering Dunes and place it anywhere else they would like.
