With the Season of the Risen hitting the halfway mark, it’s clear that Bungie has found a lot of success with Destiny 2. Already very popular, the online shooter seemingly hit a new stride with the release of theWitch Queen expansion as it is currently the third-highest rated game of the year. While the experience hasn’t been flawless, overall, it seems that both critics and players are enjoying the current set of content with an eye on what’s to come.

While Bungie has remained mum on what’s next in terms of seasonal content to this point, the studio has confirmed that the remaining two subclasses ofArc and Solar will be following in the highly successful footsteps of Void 3.0. Recently, it has come to light that Season 17 will be revamping the Solar subclasses, with Arc to follow sometime after, most likely at the start of Season 18. The news should be welcomed by fans, as the current builds of Solar and Arc feel outdated and restrictive when compared to Void and Stasis.

One aspect that hasn’t changed to this point is the disappointing low exotic rolls from Xur’s weeklyDestiny 2visit. Regardless, follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he’s brought for the weekend of May 24, 2025.

Where is Xur?

This weekend, players will need to head to the Tower hangar to find Xur overlooking the snowy mountains.

From the default landing zone, immediately head to the left and following the path down into the Hangar. After entering the hangar, head left again past Arach Jalaal and his Dead Orbit crew and up a metal staircase. Xur is standing on a metal platform at the back of this room overlooking the mountain ranges below.

Class Armor and Exotic Cipher

Xur’s role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary toacquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clanmates or finishing more challenging activities.

Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.

Please note that until Bungie works out the low stat roll issue, it’s highly recommended that players largely avoid each item this week unless they’re looking to simply fill out their exotic collection.

Exotic Armor

Ophidian Aspect - Warlock gauntlets

This armor is subclass neutral item that enhances combat ability through its perk, Cobra Totemic. With it, players can ready weapons and reload them much faster than normal. In addition, it also extends the Warlock melee range.

Ultimately, these are solid exotics because they help improve the combat of the game, especially in PvP activities. Having extended melee range is also beneficial formany Warlock subclasses, especially players who like using Devour. This item did receive a buff all the way back in the Season 10 update which gave them an increased lunge range for all Warlock melee attacks even if the ability is on cool down.

Destiny 2 Hawkmoon Hand Cannon

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

Foetracer - Hunter helmet

Foetracer visually highlights enemies thanks to its intrinsic perk known as Relentless Tracker. This visually marks targeted enemies and then deals more damage to low-health marked enemies.

The Dead Man’s Tale exotic scout rifle from Destiny 2.

Obviously, this is a PvP focused item where its perks can shine brightest. Players have also found success with it in Gambit, where it is able to highlight invaders. Overall, this helm is a solid exotic, but not likely one that’s considered essential to own.

Void Enhanced. Stat Values:

Dunemarchers - Titan leg armor

Dunemarchers are back in stock for Titan players this weekend. Linear Actuators increase the player’s sprint speed and also builds up a static charge. When using a melee attack on an opponent, the charge is released and chains damage to all nearby enemies. While these are a fun exotic to mess around with, their actual utility may vary from person to person but they can cause some pretty big damage when paired with certain Titan subclasses likebottom tree Strikeror middle tree Sunbreaker.

Exotic Weapon

Just on sale last month, it’s Telesto time once again. This weapon has had a very interesting history with the game, responsible forbreaking many parts of the game in the favor of players. This includes, but isn’t limited to helping players cheese the Blind Well event, proc certain buffs and benefits for other players, giving free special ammo in large quantities, and much more. Because of these glitches, the gun has become very player friendly and likely a massive headache for Bungie. However, the weapon has been pretty quiet for a few months now…

The weapon’s intrinsic perk is called Unplanned Reprieve which causes fusion projectiles to attach and detonate with a delayed void blast. It’s also paired with the Harbinger’s Pulse perk which instantly reloads equipped primary and energy weapons after multi-kills with the Telesto. Naturally, it’s a great PvE weapon as its sticky explosives cover a wide area and can clear adds very fast. It’s a solid PvP weapon as well, though it really shines once the Masterwork catalyst has been applied to increase the ammo reserves.

Additional perks:

Since Season 16 removed the Presage and Harbinger exotic missions,Xur is also selling both Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale with randomized rolls. Players should visit him each weekend as he’ll be carrying different rolls.
