Xur has returned again toDestiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. In addition to limited time content,Destiny 2players have noted that a unique and rare cosmetic shaderhas also returned to Ada-1 this week. The Bergusian Nights shader, originally added with the Black Armory content, was been a rare sight after being vaulted with Beyond Light. Players have until the upcoming reset to claim it from Ada-1.
In the meantime, players now have arelease date on the upcomingDestiny 2midseason balance updatethat Bungie has been teasing. The major piece to this update is buffing primary weapons in PvE content, including a huge 25% damage boost to auto rifles. The update also features other primary buffs as well as additional fixes like making Solo master Dungeon and Raid completions retroactive for those working on Guardian Rank 11.

For now, the weekend merchant Xur has made a return to the world ofDestiny 2. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he’s brought for the weekend of July 28, 2025.

Where is Xur?
This weekend, players should visit the Hangar inside of the Tower to find Xur.
As usual, fast travel to the main Tower location and head left into the Hangar. Once there, take another left and move past the Dead Orbit section to find a metal staircase. Move up the stairs to find Xur on a platform overlooking the mountain range off in the distance.

Class Armor and Exotic Cipher
Xur’s role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary toacquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.
Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.

Exotic Armor
Verity’s Brow - Warlock helmet
Verity’s Brow is an exotic helm which was originally given to all players who finished the Warmind DLC campaign, which is nowinside the Destiny Content Vault. Its exotic perk is called The Fourth Magic, which causes energy weapon kills to boost grenade energy for the player and any nearby enemies. This effect can stack up to three times.
The item itself is definitely useful, especially when paired with strong energy weapons like Riskrunner or IKELOS SMG. Worse yet is this week’s roll, which is the lowest of the three, even with a very high Resilience stat and solid Recovery and Discipline.

Stat Values (60 Total):
Shards of Galanor - Hunter gauntlets
For Hunters that like to run with Blade Barrage as their Solar Super, the Shards of Galanor is a great option. Sharp Edges is the exotic perk on these, and it returns super energy for hits and kills with Blade Barrage once the super ends up to a point. Obviously, it’s pretty super specific so Golden Gun users can rightly skip this exotic.

While not nearly as effective as they originally were, the Shards are still a viable option for Hunters of like to run Blade Barrage as their super. It’s not going to give back an entire super meter like it used to thanks to aSeason 15 nerf by Bungie, but it will still help get players back there faster than normal. This week, the stat roll is the highest of the three, with a focus on Recovery and Discipline.
Stat Values (63 Total):
Antaeus Wards - Titan leg armor
The Antaeus Wards are all about mobility that pairs with an interesting, albeit somewhat tricky mechanic. The intrinsic perk Reflective Vents improves the player’s slide while also reflects incoming projectiles during the slide, though it was nerfed last year toremove the super energy gain on reflection.

The ability may require a slight adjustment period to get the timing down, but once the mechanic is figured out, these boots become extremely valuable. Not only can players reflect bullets, but they are also capable of reflecting supers like Blade Barrage and Nova Bomb. The roll is okay, coming in at a 62 total with high Strength and Resilience.
Stat Values (62 total):
Exotic Weapon
It’s been a very long time since the Black Talon sword has been seen with Xur. It’s a worthy addition to any Guardian’s loadout thanks to Black Talon’s unique ability to fire projectiles as well as cut down enemies. This heavy sword features the Crow’s Wing perk which lets the user swing to fire off a cross combo projectile. Its secondary perk, Tireless Blade, gives ammo for every other powered sword kill.
This projectile gives the Black Talon an advantage over other swords as it lets the player stay at a distance instead of getting up close and personal to get a kill. Titan players may even want to break out the Stronghold exotic which pairs very well with it.
Additional perks:
Since Season 16 removed the Presage and Harbinger exotic missions,Xur is also selling both Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale with randomized rolls. Players should visit him each weekend as he’ll be carrying different rolls.
