Summary

Bungie releases Update 8.0.0.7 forDestiny 2, addressing a number of bugs and gameplay problems related to activities, Guardian abilities, and more. It’s a big week forDestiny 2fans as Act 2 of Episode Echoes has finally arrived after a 3-week hiatus. The release cadence established by the move away from Seasons and to these new Episodes has left many fans a little disappointed due to the imposed downtime between multiple Acts.

However, good news is on the horizon asBungie has confirmed that Episode 2: Revenant will be releasing all story contentat launch, removing the timegating elements that have been present in Episode 1: Echoes. The change has proven to be a hit with fans, who continue to praise the change of plans. Bungie will continue to monitor feedback, so there is a chance if something goes wrong or doesn’t work quite as well, the studio could change it before Episode 3 launches in 2025. Alongside these bigger changes, Bungie also continues to release smaller updates, addressing more pressing matters at a quicker pace.

The latest update forDestiny 2arrived alongside the weekly reset, bringing fixes to a number of activities and gear inside of the game. The update makes adjustments to activities like the Liminality strike, Ghosts of the Deep dungeon, and Salvation’s Edge raid, fixing bugs and odd issues which could result in crashes, despawning, or other unintended behaviors. The Pathfinder has also received numerous tweaks, including adjusting a node that required 150 Cabal kills and instead making it less specific to include any combatant.

In terms of gameplay related fixes, Update 8.0.0.7 makes a few changes to the Titan’s Precious Scars exotic armor, namely that Sol Invictus and Offensive Bulwark Aspects no longer block Kintsugi. The Warlock’s Osmiomancy Gloves have been tweaked to now only work with Coldsnap grenades, where previously, the regeneration bonus could be used with any type. TheShieldcrush perk as part ofDestiny 2’s Artifactwas also fixed due to an issue where Grapple Punch was gaining full bonuses from either half of the perk, making it much more powerful than intended.

The adjustments should help the overallDestiny 2experience as well as keep fans happy, considering there were no weapon adjustments in this patch. However, in the near future, Bungie has announced anerf to the popularDestiny 2exotic Still Hunt sniper rifle, though it’ll only be impacting Hunters who pair the weapon with the Celestial Nighthawk helmet. The weapon essentially gives any class the ability to fire Golden Gun shots once the weapon is charged, a super originally locked to Gunslinger Hunters. Naturally, the weapon has become a staple for many players to burn down enemy health quickly, though Hunters are losing a 25% damage boost who are wearing the Celestial Nighthawk, so this change may open the door for other pairings or perhaps even the Whisper of the Worm to re-enter the meta.
