Considering how often Bungie’s massively popular online shooter is changing, players are always looking for ways to make things faster and easier.Glitches and skips are a constant inDestiny 2, with resourceful players utilizing all sorts of tricks to bypass sections of Raids, Dungeons, and other PvE style content.
Over the past year, Bungie has been working to refurbish many of the older portions ofDestiny 2, including numerous strikes. Previously,Lake of Shadows has been a favorite of players to runas it can be finished relatively quickly, with teams melting the final boss in seconds. However, a recent rework to the strike has added changes to make it slightly longer and introduced new enemies including a Tormentor for Nightfall specific runs. While the strike is now a bit more intense on higher difficulties like Grandmaster, resourcefulDestiny 2players have found a very easy skip, which also cuts way down on the completion time.

YouTuber Cheese Forever has outlined a new Grandmaster difficulty strategy discovered byDestiny 2players Simple, Tobi, and Twoface. While the majority of the strike players out the same way, players can cut out a sizable section of the strike after reaching the bridge area. While not required to defeat every enemy in this section, players are supposed to continue following the path through a doorway into the next area of the dam, though in this case, they can skip this entirely by jumping over the railing to the round building in the distance.
Cheese Forever utilizes theHeat Rising ability that Dawnblade Warlockshave to reach this area easily, though the videos showcase that Titans and Hunters can also make this gap. Continue climbing up the side of the building to reach a hole in the roof that allows players to enter the boss room. Inside, players will find a few enemies and a champion waiting, though some will need to trigger the blight by jumping up to the doorway where they’d normally come through. All in all, this skip cuts off a good chunk of the strike, making the Lake of Shadows a bit easier to manage.
As handy as this skip is,Destiny 2players shouldn’t be surprised if Bungie ultimately patches this out. The studio has a tendency to react quickly to skips and glitches being used to bypass content and this one clearly isn’t intended to be there in the first place. Lake of Shadows has gotten plenty of updates over the years as this isn’t the firstskip or cheese discovered by theDestiny 2community. During Season of Arrivals, players found a way to bypass the first champion encounter entirely by going out of bounds.
Destiny 2is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
