Destiny 2’s Season of the Haunted entered its last month, with three weeks being now dedicated to the recently reworked Solstice event, which was previously called Solstice of Heroes. With the new event system, Bungie made Solstice have its own set of Triumphs and a unique Seal, which contributes to a year-round Seal that encompasses all four major events in the game. There are severalchanges made to Solstice inDestiny 2, among which the armor farming aspect of it is heavily emphasized to further invest in the game’s build-crafting aspect.

There are also two farmable weapons with this year’s edition of the Solstice event, with one being a Solar shotgun called Compass Rose, and a new 120 RPM Stasis hand cannon called Something New. What makes these weapons unique is the fact that, much likeDestiny 2’s last Guardian Games edition, the Solstice weapons now have their own event-exclusive Origin Trait, called Dream Work. The perk is supposed to overflow the weapons' magazines or reload it from reserves on assists or killing enemies hit by teammates, and only once per reload.

However, players were quick to discover that Drem Work’s effect applies to all weapons, instead of being restricted to Solstice ones, as long as players swap their guns between their initial shot and the kill made by an ally. Then,Destiny 2players can reload their Solstice weapon and repeat the process, overflowing any weapon’s magazine to the max of its reserves, as the perk stacks endlessly. This can translate into multiple rockets in the magazine, grenade launchers that don’t have to reload, and all sorts of problematic things in both PvE and PvP alike.

Destiny 2YouTuber and content creator Cheese Forever made a video about the issue, describing how to proc it consistently and what sort of effects it can achieve with a full team of players doing the same thing. Popular weapons to overflow are guns likeThe Fourth Horseman shotgun, which will increase its damage output exponentially the longer it is fired, or even rocket launchers like Gjallarhorn. In fact, a short video appeared on Twitter of three players defeating Caiatl in the Duality Dungeon with nine rockets in Gjallarhorn’s magazine, completing the encounter in a single phase.

This is obviously not intended behavior for the perk, as it would completely change the currentDestiny 2meta in all game modes, and it’s likely that Bungie will be fixing it as soon as possible. Recently,Bungie addressedDestiny 2PvP and harassment issues, and it’s likely that the company will attempt to prevent them from escalating, which this glitch could do if it remained throughout the weekend when Trials of Osiris are back.

Destiny 2is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
