Summary

Deadpool 3plot details from reputable sources may have spoiled what the upcoming movie will be about. But it’s such a wild and surreal idea that even one leaker seems to be taking it with a hefty grain of coarse rock salt. If anything, that makes it all the more interesting.

After somebad news for fans looking forward toDeadpool 3, those same fans may now be able to take some solace in what may be the premise of the movie. Relatively little has been revealed about the film since its announcement, with just a fun picture of Ryen Reynolds’Deadpooland Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine going through its paces in everyDeadpool 3news story. But while Jackman’s involvement has been confirmed for some time, fans have maintained their curiosity regarding how that team-up will happen. Well, odds are they didn’t expect this.

Prominent industry leakerMyTimeToShineHelloposted a bold new claim to her Twitter account, offering up what she alleges is theDeadpool 3story. “Deadpool 3is about the TVA picking up the PRIME versions of each hero to create a multiversal army to fight the Kangs. And they picked Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine to recruit but he’s not fully on board. That is what the movie is about.” The fact that she tacked on that last sentence seems to indicate she’s being thrown for just as big a loop as the fans reading her tweet.CanWeGetSomeToastadded their own scoop, noting thatDeadpool 3is still Wade Wilson’s story, explaining that the Merc with a Mouth’s time travel antics with Cable’s time machine resulted in him becoming the TVA’s prisoner. When Deadpool learns of the multiversal army plan, he is motivated to escape and enlist Wolverine.

Fans who have kept up with Marvel Studios offerings will no doubt recognize the mention of the TVA (Time Variance Authority), an organization existing outside of time itself that’s central to the Disney Plus seriesLoki.Lokifeatures the TVA supposedly protecting the timeline. In season 1, this meant eliminating any variations and branching timelines other than the main one deemed the “Sacred Timeline.” But season 2 has seen the organization in disarray as all timelines are (mostly) allowed to continue branching out. This happened as the result of Sylvie, a variant of Loki, killing He Who Remains, the man responsible for all the eliminated timelines and variants. His death also resulted in variants of himself, often known as Kang, running rampant and regularly appearing as the villain in subsequent Marvel Studios movies.

So now, it seems this is how theeventualStar Warsdirector Shawn Levy’sDeadpool 3may tie intoLoki. Wolverine’s reluctance to help out is already on-brand for that particular character. But the idea of him and Deadpool having toBill & Tedtheir way across time to find original versions of various heroes (and maybe villains) sounds like the type of unhinged buddy-cop-style movie fans would love to see involving them both. It would raise the stakes to one heck of a degree after the previousDeadpoolmovies.

The immortal, snarky character ofDeadpool has done many horrible things, even while maintaining his status as a good guy. So it makes sense if this is something he’s forced to do as a result of one of his many hilariously heinous hijinks. Just remember, this is only a rumor at this point. But MyTimeToShineHello and CanWeGetSomeToast are pretty reliable, and frankly, having thisDeadpool 3rumor eventually debunked sounds like a tragedy.
