The multiplayer-horror titleDead by Daylighthas seen plenty of crossovers over its roughly seven-year lifespan, and a new survey from its developer hints even more may be on the way involving several high-profile anime and game franchises. Ash Williams, Freddy Krueger, and evenNicolas Cageare just a few of the names to join Behaviour Interactive’s game as either survivors or killers, each bringing a new twist to whatever role they may fill. The new survey shows the studio has no intention of slowing down, either, and wants to bring in even more variety to the popular game.
Dead by Daylightoriginally released in 2016 for PC, pitting four survivors against one dangerous killer in a game of cat-and-mouse where players can fill each of the five available roles. At launch, all survivors and killers available to choose from were original creations by Behaviour Interactive, with the killers taking cues from horror archetypes such as ghosts, cult leaders, and clowns. The studio would go on to include third-party characters in both roles, with the current roster of killers featuring a who’s-who of horror icons including Ghostface, Pyramid Head, and Michael Myers.

While the game’s roster reads like a horror all-star roster as of this writing, Behaviour Interactive’s latest survey hints that even more big-name crossovers may be on the horizon. The survey, which was shared on Reddit by user AquaticCitizen, asks the individual taking it which of the listed franchises they would be interested in seeingmake the jump intoDead by Daylight. The survey is then split between sections for film, comic book, video game, and anime/manga franchises, with participants able to select up to three options under each section.
Some of the options in the survey, such asEvil Within,Parasyte, andCandyman, may not come as a surprise to players as it would make sense to pull from other horror titles when adding toDead by Daylight. However, players can argue other options such asJohn WickandMetal Gear Solidshow Behaviour Interactive isn’t shy about looking outside the horror space when coming up with new content. The sight of the titular hitman played byKeanu Reevestrying to outmaneuver one of the game’s many killers could make for an eye-catching visual to some potentially new or lapsed players.
It will likely be some time until players know the role this survey could play in shaping future content for the game, or if any of the listed franchises even make it intoDead by Daylightat all. Behaviour Interactive has still been hard at work on its own original ideas for the game, withThe Skull Merchantbeing one of the latest additions to the growing roster of killers. While it wouldn’t be surprising if there is already more content ready to go, players can only wait to see what it will ultimately be.
Dead by Daylightis currently available for Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
