Though many believed that the enormous 2.0 version ofCyberpunk 2077would be the last major update for the game, in a stream on July 30, 2025, CD Projekt Red announced even more changes coming to the revitalized game. Among these changes are somefeatures that players have been asking forsince the very beginning of the hype train all those years ago – including a Metro system.
Taking the train around Night City at one’s leisure is far from the only new thing players will be able to do inCyberpunk 2077’s 2.1 update, though. On June 03, 2025,Cyberpunk 2077players will be able to interact with romance partners in new ways, listen to the radio everywhere, engage in more dynamic vehicle combat, and even take on a newly supercharged, Sandevistan-wielding Adam Smasher boss fight.

The Night City Metro System
One of the most eagerly anticipatedCyberpunk 2077update 2.1 changes is the addition of a fully-fledged Metro system. This feature was shown in the game’s original trailers, and assets present in game for such a system, but until now players who wanted to automatically get somewhere on the map would simply have to fast travel.
Though theCyberpunk 2077Metro can be fast-forwarded, like during missions when an NPCdrives V to a location, it’s also possible to let the entire journey play out as the train travels to its next stop. There will be several Metro lines available in the 2.1 update, so be sure to check the map before committing to a trip on the train.

A More Challenging Adam Smasher Boss Fight
Adam Smasher is, to borrow Johnny Silverhand’s words, the completely’borged-out, more-chrome-than-human"security" agent for the Arasaka Corporation – and the one who killed Silverhand back in 2023. But by the time players reach his boss fight at the end of the game, it can become trivially easy, even on higher difficulty settings. V is just too strong by Level 60, with endgame weapons and abilities available.
However, in the 2.1 updateCyberpunk 2077is making Adam Smasher amuch, much more challenging opponentto fight. Just like inCyberpunk: Edgerunners, Adam Smasher has been given a Sandevistan, and will now appear to rapidly phase from location to location as he more easily dodges V’s shots. It’s sure to be a fight worthy of the boogeyman of Night City.

A Hangout Spot For Romance Partners, And A Personal Radio
One thingCyberpunk 2077fans have been asking for over the years ismore interaction with romantic partners. Though the 2.1 update doesn’t add any new romance options, it will give players a place to bring their partner to hang out and see each other outside of missions and text messages.
Additionally, players will now be able to listen to the radio outside of vehicles. With the 2.1Cyberpunk 2077update radio music can be played anywhere, as V will be given a personal radio to carry around. Having more things to do with one’s chosen romance partner, and the ability to play the music of Night City anywhere, will make the world feel more immersive than before.

Major Driving, Motorcycle, & Street Racing Updates
Some of the biggest – and flashiest – updates coming with the 2.1 update are a suite of changes that target vehicles (particularly motorcycles), street races, and chase sequences. In addition to new motorcycles and a new Johnny Silverhand-themed car being added to the game, players can now use throwing weapons while riding a motorcycle. Not only that, but thanks to changes to the way motorcycle physics work inCyberpunk 2077, players can now drive more effectively and evenperform special maneuvers like flips.
Some of the best missions inCyberpunk 2077are the street racing missions that Claire takes V on, but after they are completed, these intense races can’t be repeated. In the 2.1 updateCyberpunk 2077race missions will be repeatable, letting players take to the streets anytime they like. Finally, enemy AI will be updated to allow gangs and regular enemies to chase V in their vehicles, not just Police – it might not be so simple to take out a group of gang members, now.

UI Customization & Accessibility Improvements
The final major changes coming in the 2.1 update forCyberpunk 2077are a suite of user interface and accessibility updates – including an entirely new accessibility tab. This tab will contain options for various colorblind modes, subtitles for all spoken audio and music, the size and background opacity of on-screen text, and lots of other options for motion sensitivity and game assistance.
In terms of UI updates, there are now options to enable and disable chromatic aberration, lens distortion, and decorative elements for the HUD. Players can now choose to avoid cycling to Arm Cyberware while scrolling through their equipped weapons, and the Breach Protocol minigame will no longer have any time limit – solving those codes can get pretty convoluted, after all.
