Pygmy Hippo in Planet Zoo

7Pygmy Hippo

Game Edition: Deluxe Upgrade

While not everyone would agree that hippopotamuses are cute, the much smaller Pygmy Hippos certainly are. As they are still dangerous, they are not the type of creature that people would want to get up close and personal with, but their small stature makes them popular with guests nonetheless.

As they are endangered and yet easy to breed in the game, they aregood animals for gaining Conservation Credits, an important resource inPlanet Zoo. Like other animals who enjoy the water, Pygmy Hippos are best viewed underwater, too.

Quokka from the Oceania Pack in Planet Zoo

6Quokka

Game Edition: Oceania Pack

Quokkas are one of the least known species inPlanet Zoo, at least for those living outside of Australia, and that makes them all the more intriguing. As one of the smallest non-exhibit animals in the game, they would already be up for consideration as the cutest animals, but they have something even more adorable hidden up their non-existent sleeves.

Thanks to their unique bone structure with small jaws and protruding teeth, Quokkas almost always look as though they are smiling, and with large searching eyes, they are capable of breaking any heart. Their curiosity about humans also helps with their cuteness, and in the game, players can let guests walk through Quokka habitats.

Giant Panda in Planet Zoo

Game Edition: Standard

While many of the cutest animals are only available withthe bestPlanet ZooDLCs, the Giant Panda is a great example of an adorable species from the base game. These iconic cuddly bears are known for having a diet that almost exclusively consists of bamboo and for being incredibly difficult to breed.

Thus, players won’t just have cute black and white bears, but they will also have a challenge on their hands, with every birth deserving a celebration. Some of the habitats that players have designed for Giant Pandas rank amongthe best Steam Workshop blueprintsforPlanet Zoo.

Koala in Planet Zoo

4Koala

Game Edition: Australia Pack

It only takes a glance to see why Koalas are considered one of the cutest animals in the world. This iconic Australian species is perhaps best known for large fluffy ears but perhaps also for how they cling onto the Eucalyptus trees they feed on.

Available with the Australia Pack DLC, Koalas are great forgetting guests through the doorthanks to their high popularity, and yet they are fairly easy to look after. As they are not the most sociable of animals, players only need a few individuals and not much space at all. It’s also important to place ‘do not disturb’ signs nearby, as Koalas are highly disturbed by noise. This is one of the many ways to keep animals happy inPlanet Zoo.

Asian Small-Clawed Otter in Planet Zoo

3Asian Small-Clawed Otter

Game Edition: Wetlands Animal Pack

Whether their heads are just poking out of the water or they are rolling around on the ground together, the Asian Small-Clawed Otters are undeniably adorable. Players will want to adopt quite a few of these otters, who prefer to live in large family groups, and watching them interact with one another is quite the treat.

Arctic Fox diving in the snow in Planet Zoo

2Arctic Fox

Game Edition: North America Animal Pack

With snow-white fur, large bushy tails, and a tendency to dive head first into the snow, it’s easy to see why Arctic Foxes are among the most adorable animals inPlanet Zoo. Of course, their small stature also lends itself nicely to their cuteness, and players can have fun creating small andcozy winter habitatsfor them.

While it’s easy to imagine Arctic Foxes being from the Arctic Pack, they are actually part of the North American Animal Pack. As this was released at a later date, players can expect more realistic textures and animations.

Little Penguin from the Oceania Pack in Planet Zoo

1Little Penguin

The Oceania Pack is full to the brim with cute animals, and chief among these is the aptly named Little Penguin. On top of being the smallest species of penguin in the world, including having tiny beaks, these birds also have fantastic shiny blue coats, which give them their alternative name: Blue Penguins.

After finishing a nice habitat for these little fellas, players can sit back and watch them dive in the water or stumble around on the ground, somehow always looking lost.
