As is always the case with a newCall of Dutytitle,Call of Duty: Vanguardplayers have done their best to determine the best and worst weapons available. With the game having been out for almost an entire month now,Call of Duty: Vanguard’s meta weaponshave been determined, with guns like the StG 44, Automaton, and MP-40 holding the top positions.
Unfortunately, there are some poor weapons thatCall of Duty: Vanguardfans will have to put up with if they are looking to level up an Operator quickly. One such weapon is the AS44, a gun that joins the NZ-41 at the bottom of the barrel for Assault Rifles. However, a recent adjustment has made the weapon a bit more tolerable, and the right attachments can turn it into a decent enough gun.

Call of Duty: Vanguard’s AS44
WhenCall of Duty: Vanguardlaunched, there was plenty of controversy around the bloom mechanic. The feature essentially saw bullets going in random directions no matter how good a player’s aim was, and many fans felt this RNG style did not belong in the franchise. One of the weapons that was impacted the most by bloom was the AS44, as the weapon’s accuracy was abysmal for the first few weeks of the game’s lifespan. Fortunately, Sledgehammer heard the complaints, adjusting the impact ofCall of Duty: Vanguard’s bloomfor every single gun.
Following the changes to bloom, the AS44 has gone from useless to usable, and players can now expect to hit their targets if they have the Assault Rifle kitted out with the correct attachments. Fortunately, unlocking those attachments should not take too long, as one ofCall of Duty: Vanguard’s Operatorsconsiders the AS44 to be their favorite weapon. If players equip Beatrice, they will level up the weapon significantly faster, with more Operator XP also coming in for Beatrice.

Best Gunsmith Attachments For Call of Duty: Vanguard’s AS44
Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Gunsmithhas the ability to completely transform a weapon, which is great news for the AS44. The first attachment players will want to equip is the F8 Stabilizer, as it adds some range and provides accuracy. The Kovalevskaya 615MM provides a more significant boost to these stats as well. Optic is personal preference, though the Slate Reflector is never a bad pick.
Call of Duty: Vanguardplayersshould also throw on the ZAC 12B Custom stock, as it once again gives the weapon more accuracy. Some flinch resistance is also provided. The M1930 Strife Angled underbarrel is another fine choice, while a particularly important attachment comes in the form of the magazine. Players will want to use the 7.62 Gorenko 45 Round Mags, as this attachment not only gives players the chance to fire for longer before reloading, but it also adds some movement speed and even more accuracy.
Given the slow ADS speed of the weapon, throwing on the Fabric Grip would be a wise idea. Lengthened rounds are a must-have, as they provide bullet velocity that helps shots hit their targets quicker. This is especially useful onCall of Duty: Vanguard’s larger maps. The Fully Loaded kit and Sleight of Hand proficiency is a good combo, as players can reload quicker and have more ammo when they spawn in. With this setup, the AS44 goes from the least accurate Assault Rifle to an absolute laser, proving that even the most average gun can serve a purpose.
Call of Duty: Vanguardis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
