Utilizing Checkpoints in Beginner Mode
If you’re anew player inChained Together,the Beginner mode is your go-to. This mode can come in handy for players who want to improve their climbing skills while discovering the various experiences the game has to offer. In case of a failure, you’ll still be able to respawn. That, too, from your highest progression made in the mode.
Due to the ease provided in this mode, your achievements will not be added to the leaderboard scores or Steam achievements.

Navigating Without Checkpoints
Checkpoints only exist in Beginner Mode, so if you’re playing the game on a higher difficulty, these won’t be available to you. Here are some tips on how you can survive and make your way to the top in Chained Together without Checkpoints.
Normal Mode
Normal mode requires planning, strategic climbing, and focus on success. It removes the Checkpoint Security Net, forcing players to be more skillful and precise. Therefore, a failure here would mean restarting the climb all over again. Players who wish to hone their skills for high-value leaderboards can jump into this mode.
Lava Mode
Lava Mode can be considered one of the toughest modes, suitable for only the fastest and the mostskillful players in the game. The mode has no checkpoints, and you’ll have to progress quickly due to the rising lava. Like the Normal Mode, however, the progress made in Lava Mode contributes to your official standings and accolades.
Saving Progress in Chained Together
Initially, accessing the saved progress was a huge hassle inChained Together. Players had to first hop onto the game, load a new playthrough, and go through the menu to load the saved game data. Fortunately, that’s not the case anymore. Now, you’ll save your progress automatically as you level up or quit the game. Furthermore, you may now directly load the progress you saved from the game menu.
Using the save feature disables your leaderboard submissions. So, if you play for the competition, it is best not to rely on the save feature.
