Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warcontinues to use the blueprint system introduced inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, and while some players may like this setup, not everyone is pleased. Popular YouTuber JGOD recently shared his issues with the system, calling out oneCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warweapon blueprint directly.

Known for hisCall of Dutycontent, JGOD has proven to be a consistent voice for the frustrated players of the franchise, recently taking part in a study to show howskill-based matchmaking impacts pinginCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. With players as vocal as they can possibly be regarding SBMM, JGOD has turned his attention to another area of the game that he believes is problematic. According to JGOD, certain weapons in the latestBlack Opsgame are pay-to-win.

JGOD discovered the advantages of blueprint weapons via a TikTok user’s video onthe popular MAC-10 SMG. Known for its unmatched rate of fire and consistent damage output, the weapon has become a fan favorite in bothCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarandCall of Duty: Warzone. However, it appears that blueprint variations of the weapon are even deadlier, as JGOD’s testing shows that the Gallantry MAC-10 has some major advantages over the original variant of the gun.

Upon testing this blueprint version of the weapon, which can only be unlocked by purchasingCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’sSeason 1 Battle Passand reaching Tier 95, JGOD made some startling discoveries. JGOD noticed a major difference in the SMG’s recoil, calling it “100% different” due to how the weapon fires up and to the right when the Gallantry blueprint is equipped. Far easier to control than the base weapon’s “S-shaped” recoil pattern, the paid access version of the MAC-10 certainly appears better.

Not only did this recoil change exist with and without attachments, but JGOD proved thatthe recent MAC-10 nerfsdo not impact the Gallantry version of the weapon. Though the gun has supposedly seen its headshot damage reduced to 30 inCall of Duty: Warzone, only the base weapon has seen this change — with the Gallantry MAC-10 still having its headshot damage set to 40. Clearly offering an advantage over the gun players can use for free, JGOD’s discovery is likely to anger several fans ofCall of Duty: Warzone.

WithCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Waralreadyselling slower thanCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, it will be interesting to see if the game’s seemingly pay-to-win weapon setup further impacts sales. For now, though, players may want to verify that they have the Gallantry version of the MAC-10 equipped whenever they use the SMG.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Waris available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
