Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop has been engrained in theCall of Dutycommunity for years now. Courage has become one of themost popular streamersand is looked to for opinions on video games. CouRage recently took to Twitter to talk about his giant problem withCall of Duty: Modern Warfare.

CouRage has been an extremely important gamer for the newestCall of Duty. CouRage participated in the first unveiling of gameplay ofModern Warfareand was a part of thefirst-ever gunfight match. He has spent countless hours streaming the game and has noticed that Modern Warfare is a little different than most other games in the franchise. InCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, the leveling is structured differently than the previous games.

Modern Warfareis the firstCall of Dutytonot have prestige rankings. Instead, players can level up to 55, and move on to officer ranks, which caps out at 155. Every season, players will revert back to level 55 and can rank up to 155 once again. This leveling system can be a little confusing and many wonder why the leveling is so dependent on seasons. CouRage is apparently not very happy with all aspects of the leveling system and has called it “the worst of any Call of Duty EVER.”

CouRage earned hisCall of Dutyexpertise by becoming a caster for the Call of Duty World League in 2015. Since then, CouRage has been a content creator for top esports teams, OpTic Gaming, and most recently, 100 Thieves. It is understandable that CouRage is not a fan of the leveling system. Prestige ranking was one of the most satisfying leveling systems of any game.

Each release of aCall of Dutywould spark a race to earn the top prestige and show off the coveted badges. With a small level cap and no prestige, top players inModern Warfaredo not have the same sense of achievement.

Unfortunately, the leveling system is most likely not a change that will happen inModern Warfare. Many times streamers have complaints about games, it is something that can be fixed, like a bug or glitch. Something as big as the leveling system, is only something the developers may consider for the next game.It is currently season threeinCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, so perhaps CouRage will find reasons to enjoy the leveling system. Only time will tell ifCall of Dutyreintroduces the prestige rankings or ifModern Warfaremarks the death of the loved leveling system.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfareis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
