Infinity Ward drew ire fromCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers last week by temporarilyreplacing Quads with Realism Battle Royale, as many felt the removed game mode was a “staple” for playing with friends. However, that was not necessarily a slight against Realism in general, which is popular enough inCall of Duty: Modern Warfarethat today Infinity Ward’s Co-Design Director of Multiplayer Joe Cecot confirmed the team intends to add the mode into permanent rotation.
Cecot’s confirmation Tweet came in response to aCall of DutyYouTuber, who goes by Xtwo, asking Cecot and Infinity Ward Narrative Director Taylor Kurosaki to not remove their favorite game mode, Realism and Realism Night, because “it makes for some amazing games and videos.” Cecot said, “It is our intention to add it to the filter,” but does not provide any further information as to when fans could expect such a change inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare.

The developer has been discussing game modes with fans on Twitter quite a bit as of late, and yesterday he also confirmed that it is planned to bring Realism mosh pit back when asked by a player who goes by Rowdy Riggs.Modern Warfare’s playlists change often, including theaddition of modes like All or Nothing and Chaos 10v10this week, so those who enjoy Realism should be excited to know the mode might retain a permanent slot soon.
Since Infinity Ward shook up its fanbase with the removal of Quads from the battle royaleWarzone, this week’sActivision Games Blog announced the mode’s return. Plunder and Blood Money Quads, as well as Warzone Rumble, are also active this week according to the blog.
