Summary
Baldur’s Gate 3is a phenomenal CRPG title that has amazed almost every player who has played it. However, although the game received theGame of the Yearaward, there were still moments and stories that players wish were improved.
This is especially the case for the final act ofBaldur’s Gate 3, where some players felt the story became rather rushed. With this in mind, some players have a few ideas of what could’ve been done with Act Three to improve it.

6Strange Ox Explained
Why Is He Trying To Get Into The City?
Throughout all three acts, players will encounter a peculiar bovine creature called the Strange Ox. Players are able to talk to this animal in every act as long as they are using a potion or spell that grants Speak With Animals.
In Act Three, the Ox demands the help of the player in getting them through the city gates. Once they have done this, that’s the end of the Ox’s storyline with little to no explanation other than a letter. While the Ox does give hints as towhat it is or where it is from(particularly if it is forced into a fight in an earlier Act) players wish that there was more explanation as to what this creature wishes to do in the city.

5Mol’s Contract
Further Conflict With Raphael
Raphael is a devil that will taunt the player through all three acts as if he is playing with his food. However, the player and their party aren’t the only life in his hands. In Act Two, players will witness Raphael attempting to win over the small Tiefling child Mol.She is later kidnapped, and it’s only discovered by exploring the House of Hope in Act Three that she had agreed to a deal with the devil.
Players are able to return this contract to Mol, who has little to no words about the situation. Many players wish that, if they had earned Mol’s trust, she would task the player with retrieving this contact for her, or that during the House of Hope adventure, the devil would have more to say about it.

4Access To The Upper City
A Whole Other Area To Explore
While Act Three is already one of the largest acts inBaldur’s Gate 3, with the player not only exploring outside the city but also the sewers and the Lower City, many players wish that the Upper City still had more involvement in the RPG. This possibility is heavily implied by how some of the areas in the game appear as if they should’ve been located there.
For example, Cazzador’s mansion is technically in the Upper City, though players manage to break in from the lower city by using the city walls. Another option ismeeting Lorroakan at his tower, which the player is teleported to from his shop. This suggests that the tower is elsewhere in the city, such as the upper district.

3Split Up The Chosen More
Orin And Gortash Feel Rushed
After Act Two heavily focused on a single member of the Chosen of the Dead Three, it was a surprise for many players how they found themselves defeating the other two rather quickly in the third act. While seeing them work against one another was interesting, with players having the option topick a side, some felt that more of a focus should’ve been put on these Chosen separately.
While Gortash has his ceremony to make him the Archduke of Baldur’s Gate, this is all the introduction Gortash gets outside of Karlach’s stories about him, and it’s arguably more than Orin receives. When compared to how players met Ketheric Thorm, it leaves them desiring something more.

2Ironhand Gnomes Vs. The Gondians
A Built-Up Rivalry That Leads To Hardly Anything
Another storyline that follows players through all three acts involves the Deep Gnome clan, known as the Ironhand Gnomes. This group of gnomes are known to be freedom fighters in Baldur’s Gate and have the one goal of destroying the Foundry that can be found within the city. They have a rivalry with another group of gnomes known as the Gondians, which may make players feel that an all-out clan war will occur in the city.
However, it feels likethe Ironhand Gnomesseem to give up when they get to the city and instead have the player set their bomb for them. Then there is a small moment between the Ironhand Gnomes and The Gondians, but it fizzles out quickly with that being the end of their questline.

1Getting Karlach An Actual Cure
She Deserves A Happier Ending
Out ofall the companionsinBaldur’s Gate 3, many players feel that the red-hot – literally – Tiefling, Karlach, gets the short end of the companion quest lines. Everyone else feels as if they have some kind of happy ending, but Karlach is left with either accepting her death or being forced back to the Hells so she doesn’t explode. Or she can transform into a Mind Flayer. All pretty poor choices.
Players feel that, during this final act, they should’ve been able to find some way to neutralize Karlach’s engine or at least get a better lead than they did. This possibility could’ve been found within the House of Hope, which is situated in the Hells. Instead, Karlach is left with killing the person that sent her away in the first place.
