Ayaneo SLIDE Design Vs Steam Deck

The Ayaneo SLIDE is a compact handheld gaming device and is the company’s first full-keyboard Windows handheld. The screen, which we’ll touch upon a bit later, is flanked by hall effect joysticks on each side. The left half of the device also offers a D-pad and two menu buttons, while the right joystick is accompanied by ABXY buttons and two more buttons. It does not have any form of touch pads or front-facing speakers. However, it does have a sliding display that sits on top of a keyboard. There are two bumper buttons on the top but, unlike the Steam Deck, the SLIDE does not have any customizable buttons on the back.

Steam Deck

Valve’s long-awaited portable console is here, and it’s taking the handheld gaming market by storm. Valve partnered with AMD to create Steam Deck’s custom APU, optimized for handheld gaming. It is a Zen 2 + RDNA 2 powerhouse, delivering more than enough performance to run the latest AAA games in a very efficient power envelope.

Ayaneo SLIDE Specifications Vs Steam Deck

The SLIDE is powered by the Ryzen 7 7840U APU, which includes integrated RDNA 3 graphics. This chip is also present in the Ayaneo KUN, Air 1S, 2S, Geek, and more. On paper, it is more powerful than the AMD Zen 2 processor in the Steam Deck, and on par with the Z1 Extreme processor found in the Asus ROG Ally. Ayaneo has not yet shared RAM and storage options for the SLIDE, but has stated that it will come with an M.2 2280 SSD and two USB Type-C ports.

Asus ROG Ally

The Asus ROG Ally is the ultimate handheld system for PC gamers. Relying on the new AMD Ryzen Z1 series of processors, the ROG Ally can handle any game thrown at it. The 7-inch 1080p Full HD display with FreeSync Premium on the system provides gamers with a crystal clear and smooth gaming experience. The advantage of the ROG Ally is that it can run most Windows-compatible games and is compatible with Xbox Game Pass titles. It also comes with 3 months of Game Pass Ultimate. The ROG Ally also features an ergonomic design that makes gaming for long periods enjoyable.

Even though the screen on the SLIDE is smaller than the Steam Deck at 6 inches, it boasts a higher resolution at 1080p. It has a six-axis gyroscope, hall effect joysticks and triggers, and two bottom-firing speakers. The Steam Deck also has a gyroscope but uses the more traditional ALPS joysticks and has front-facing speakers.
