Created byThe Messengerdeveloper Sabotage Studio,Sea of Starsputs players in control of Valere and Zale, a pair of Solstice Warriors who harness the power of the sun and moon to fight. The RPG saw heavy praise for its retro-styled graphics and the depth of its gameplay, combining a traditional turn-based combat system with platforming elements.Sea of Starstook home the mantle of “Best Indie Game” at the 2023 Game Awards and was a finalist for “Best RPG,” eventually losing out to Game of the Year winnerBaldur’s Gate 3. Now, players can finally own a physical copy of the beloved RPG.

Sea of Stars Launches Physical Version
With the physical game confirmed for a May 10 release date, fans can now pick up their physical versions ofSea of Starsfor three different consoles. The physical version ofSea of Starsis available for PS4, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X with the standard edition retailing for $39.99, or $39.88 on Switch. Physical version publisher Iam8bit had also previously confirmeda Special Edition release forSea of Stars, coming with bonus goodies like a poster, stickers, and a game manual.
The physical release comes as Sabotage Studio has made plenty of updates to the game following its release, even teasing a new way to play the game. The developer announced athree-player co-op mode forSea of Starsin March, giving players the ability to adventure around its world with two of their friends.Sea of Starshas made several fixes to the game as well, patching out a variety of bugs and even adding a new Relic to the game.Sea of Starsalso removed all mention of popular YouTuber The Completionist, following his controversy earlier this year.
WithSea of Stars' physical version officially launching, fans of the game have another major update coming in the near future. Sabotage Studio announced last summer thatSea of Starswould be receiving a DLC expansion, with theThroes of the Watchmakerstory heavily focused around the titular Watchmaker. While Sabotage has not confirmed an official release date for the DLC, the developer did confirmtheSea of StarsDLC finished pre-productionin January. With the physical version’s launch and DLC on the way,Sea of Starsfans have plenty to look forward to in the coming months.
