The new video trailer that Koei Tecmo has dropped to celebrate the 25th anniversary of itsAtelierseries seems to be hinting at a new entry for the video games. The Japanese company is taking part in the2022 Tokyo Game Showand theAtelierseries is part of its show lineup. Therefore, it is not surprising for the development team to have something prepared for fans to enjoy ahead of the actual event.
TheAtelierseries has always had a steady presence across different consoles and gaming platforms over the years. However, no news about a new video game has been announced since October 2021. This was whenAtelier Sophie 2was officially revealedin last year’s Tokyo Game Show. With the franchise celebrating a milestone year this 2022, it seems like such great timing for Koei Tecmo to bring attention back to its alchemy-themed role-playing games.

In the 25th anniversary trailer,Koei Tecmohighlighted the different series that has made up the wholeAtelierfranchise from the 1990s until the present. Starting from the 1997 titleAtelier Marieuntil the most recent 2022 entry,Atelier Sophie 2, the trailer showcased artwork and key visuals in photo frames from each game. Aside from the trip down memory lane, the game’s community would probably be most interested to see the end of the video where an empty frame seems to be making space for a new entry into the franchise.
Unfortunately, the devs did not provide any conclusive information about a new title within theAtelierseries’ 25th anniversary trailer. The end of the video simply panned over scenery like forests, cities, and more, much like howBethesda teasedElder Scrolls 6back in 2018. These are likely new locations that players will be able to explore in the nextAteliertitle. Luckily, with Tokyo Game Show 2022 only being a week or so away, fans only have to wait a short while until official news will likely be announced by the development team.
ThoughAtelier Sophie 2has only been released this 2022, it is still a sequel to analready existingAteliertitle. Given this, the community is likely hoping that Koei Tecmo and Gust have been working on a brand-new entry to the franchise, complete with new characters, storyline, setting, and more. Hopefully the devs do not disappoint the fans and a newAteliervideo game will be out in the market in the near future.
