An image of Asus' upcoming 3080 Ti graphics card has leaked, showing fans what could be the final design of the GPU. Asus has announced a slew of new hardware in recent weeks, with 3080graphics cardsto begin rolling out later this year from a variety of manufacturers.

The card, labeled the ROG STRIX GeForce 3080 Ti, boasts a 3 fan design and what appears to beRGB coloringtowards the top, though it could simply be coloring along the edge of the card. It’s a fairly radical redesign of the 2080 Ti, which features a more simplistic, darker design versus the 3080 Ti’s sharp silver accents. It’s a bold departure, and it’s sure to pack a punch over what’s currently available on the market.

Videocardz, which originally released the photo, has affirmed that the image is real and comes from an “internal design proofing.” That being said, it’s possible that it’s simply a concept and not a final design, so it should be taken with a grain of salt. There have also been rumors of a 3090 graphics included with the 30 series lineup, though it isn’t clear if those will turn out to be real.

Of course, if history is anything to go off of, the launch pricing of the 3080 Ti will be a deterrent for many, as high-end graphics cards typically run near the thousand dollar mark. It doesn’t help that the cards will most likely launch during a time of financial hardship brought on by the coronavirus, potentially limiting the appeal of the cards to PC gaming’s most-dedicated enthusiasts.

With next-gen consoles slated to launch this holiday season, there will be a smaller gap between the power of consoles and PCs. With thePS5 boasting an incredibly fast SSD, advancements like the 30 series graphics cards are key to keep the reputation of PCs as the most powerful option available, though building out top-end PCs can cost an absurd amount when all is said and done.

Regardless, the cards are exciting. There are those that leap at the opportunity to upgrade their gaming rig, which these cards are heavily marketed towards. Asus has other announcements coming up, like theROG Phone 3, so it may not be long before fans see official images of the 3080 Ti.
