Nintendo may still be figuring out those issues, but theAnimal Crossingcommunity knows what needs to be fixed. That’s why a new fan-made video detailing an imaginaryAnimal Crossing: New Horizonspatch is stirring up so much energy with fans.
The fan video is incredibly well produced. It takes the form of a fakeNintendo Directvideo detailing an upcomingAnimal Crossing: New Horizonspatch, with voiceover provided by three different women. As the women speak, detailing each of changes, gameplay is shown in the background showing the fix in motion. That means someone edited together gameplay in fun ways to make it look like the changes had been implemented already, producing video footage that looks like it could very well be a direct recording of the game.

None of thefixes in theAnimal Crossingvideothat producers list are major adjustments. It isn’t a video trying to dragAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsdown. Rather, it comes across like a bunch of fans genuinely hoping for their favorite game to be improved. That gives the video a positive tone while still offering constructive criticism.
Potential changes listed in the video include being able tocraftmultiple items all at once, speeding up text that players have already heard, and both hotkey and sorting options to speed up menu navigation. Being able to open your island’s multiplayer gate from a new cell phone app is particularly inventive. A few new UI elements would make playingAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsmuch faster and fun.
As noted at the end of the video, none of these changes have been confirmed byNintendo. Nintendo hasn’t even acknowledged that there are frustrations withAnimal Crossing: New Horizons.
The video is incredibly cathartic forAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsplayerswho know the frustration of dealing with some very odd choices by the development team. However, there’s also the risk of some post-watching depression. Having these changes would be so great, but knowing that they’re unlikely to be fixed after seeing them in motion makes it sting a little bit more than before. Hopefully, Nintendo will watch this video, too.
