The PlayStation family of consoles has featured a wide variety of Halloween-based DLC throughout the years. One of the more unique first-party examples was frominFamous 2’sDLC calledFestival of Blood. It was a standalone game, not part of the canon, wherein the electrified hero of Cole MacGrath had to fight through a wave of vampires that was infecting the New Orleans-based city of New Marais.

Besides a new type of enemy, Cole got vampiric powers too like drinking blood to get super strong. That’s an example from years ago, but thesePS5-compatible games from 2023 should get similar Halloween DLC to celebrate the ghoulish holiday. From costumes to full campaigns, here are the best ideas.
8Diablo 4
Diablo 4changed things fortheDiabloserieswith how updates work to keep the game alive. There are seasons in which players must make a new character every time they wish to participate. Thankfully, gear can be stored and passed around, so at least progress does carry over.
The next season could be Halloween-themed as this game is certainly one of the spookier RPGs of the year so far. Blizzard is probably already planning as they have always been good about seasonal updates fromDiablotoWorld of Warcraft.

Dead Island 2was a long time coming as it was announced in 2014 and went through several developers. With that many turnovers, it was miraculous that the game launched with such a good reaction from players and reviewers.
Thiszombie-based action RPGwas fun alone or with a group of people online. The developers are probably taking a much-needed rest after trying to get this thing out. So, major DLC in the same year seems impossible, but they may surprise fans with a Halloween event.

6Final Fantasy 16
Final Fantasy 16was developed by the same team at Square Enix who handlesFinal Fantasy 14. They are on top of Halloween in that MMO with an event called All Saints’ Wake. Fans expect it to be another big year for it in 2023, but where does that leaveFinal Fantasy 16?

Maybe the developers will introduce the holiday into this new game as well for a bit of cross-promotion. There have been pumpkin-based monsters in the series before, so perhaps Clive could hunt down a creature for a hunt quest or get a new costume likeCloud’s getup fromFinal Fantasy 7.
5Forspoken
Forspokenwas another game from Square Enix that was released this year. Itwas an isekaiabout a young girl, Frey, who gets sucked out of New York City and lands in a fantasy realm. She also gets magic powers via a bracer that binds to her arm.
With this power, Frey is tasked with helping the people of this new world rid themselves of a bunch of evil sorceresses. As the game features what are basically witches, a Halloween event could show up here too. They could decorate the hub town with pumpkins and spooky stuff and maybe even give Frey a classic witch’s outfit complete with a big black hat.

4Hogwarts Legacy
Hogwarts Legacyis the first console game that was not part of themainHarry Potterbook series. Players could create a character and attend classes at Hogwarts all while trying to stop a goblin rebellion on the side. The game goes seasonal changes which are classic for this series.
So, there already is a fall and Halloween-like setting in the game. Players can’t change the seasons either, but it’s not out of the question that the developers could add a way to do that along with a new quest centered around Halloween.

3Immortals Of Aveum
Immortals of Aveumis yet another magic-based game from 2023. It was apparently the year of the mage but at least this game brought something new to the table. It was a first-person shooter but instead of guns, players could launch spells like bullets.

Different gear could change how spells worked, so there were equivalents to sniper rifles and shotguns in the game. It takes place in a fantasy world, but it’s not impossible that they could also have a fake Halloween holiday just like the aforementioned All Saints’ Wake inFinal Fantasy 14.
2Resident Evil 4
Resident Evil 4got a remake this year and it went beyond what fans both expected and wanted. The game just got a big update which added a campaignfor Ada WongcalledSeparate Waystoo. Capcom may not have it in them to add more DLC so fast after this.
However, they would not necessarily have to do much like add a new level or anything like that. There are plenty of costumes in the game already, but fans would probably love to see even more costumes from theResident Evilseries get added in.

1Street Fighter 6
Street Fighter 6is another game from Capcom and one that is completely different from the horror game that isResident Evil 4. This latest retry in the classic fighting game series added a single-player campaign called World Tour. It’s not quite a brawler, but it is close to one.
It’s easy to see how Capcom could add some sort of Halloween event to the city in World Tour, Metro City, which is the same city from Capcom’sFinal Fightseries. Maybe even Capcom could crossover their spookiest fighting game franchise with this game viaDarkstalkers.
