We saw incredible exclusives on the Xbox One, but it was lackluster in comparison to the PlayStation 4. Microsoft is going to have to gear up if they want to win this new round of the console wars. The following sequels could make or break the next-generation Xbox. These are 10 game sequels we absolutely need on next-gen Xbox.
10Age of Empires 4
Recently announced atXO19,Age of Empires 4is the real-time strategy sequel fans are craving for. Expected to release in 2020,Age of Empires 4has been confirmed for the PC. However, we don’t know if or when it will be ported to consoles.
We know with certainty that the game will eventually come to the Xbox One, but it hasn’t been confirmed if there will be a Project Scarlett release. It’s a game that is pushing the envelope with breathtaking visuals. Please, Microsoft, bringAge of Empires 4to the next-generation Xbox.

9Halo Infinite
It’s already been announced thatHalo Infinitewill be a Project Scarlett launch title.When Project Scarlett releases is still up for speculation as no specific date has been mentioned.Halo Infinitewill likely launch alongside Project Scarlett sometime in Winter 2020.

Sure, the scale of the game is not nearly as impressive asDark Souls.It is, however, a quaint game that is worth playing for fans of the genre.
Ashenis expected to release for consoles such as the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in December 2019. Could A44 be gearing up to announce a sequel? A brutal and irksome game,Ashenis a must-play for the challenge.

7Ori and the Blind Forest 3
Ori and the Blind Forestis an award-winning platformer that released as an exclusive for the Xbox One. The world ofOri and the Blind Forestis set in a majestic forest that becomes more entrancing as the player progresses. It’s a Metroidvania in the sense that it takes after games likeMetroidandCastlevania.
It’s already been confirmed thatOri and the Will of the Wisps, the sequel toOri and the Blind Forest, will release for Xbox One in February 2020. It hasn’t been suggested ifOri and the Will of the Wisps(or a sequel) will come to the next-generation Xbox.

6Forza Horizon 5
One of Xbox Game Studios' most bold and ambitious subsidiaries, Turn 10 Studios, turnedForza Motorsportinto an open-world game. The result,Forza Horizon,is possibly the most immersive racing game we’ve ever seen. As a game that’s the top of its class,Forza Horizon 4introduces changing seasons. The game is strikingly gorgeous.
Please Turn 10 Studios, turnForza Horizoninto a Project Scarlett exclusive. Looking back,Project Gotham Racingconcluded on the Xbox 360. Xbox decided a new franchise would takeProject Gotham Racing’s Place. It’s not out of the question for a new racing franchise to hit the next-generation Xbox.

5Sea of Thieves 2
An aquatic adventure,Sea of Thievesis a pirate game like none another.Sea of Thieves' expansive world, combined with all the yo-ho jolly ole fun you can imagine, is a pirate video game at its best. From developer Rare,Sea of Thievesprovides arcadey but fun gameplay. It’s by no means realistic but is arguably the best attempt at a pirate game.
A sequel toSea of Thievesfor Project Scarlett would be too awesome. Rare’s commitment to addingSea of Thievescontent shows that they are highly invested in the IP and may make a sequel.

4Gears 6
Gears 5was a critical success, and it’s broad player base is evidence of this. As reported byign.com,“The Coalition’s studio head Rod Fergusson revealed howGears 5’s robot support character Jack was inspired by the Nintendo Wii platformer.” Taking after one of the greatest games of all time,Gears 5is an Xbox One masterpiece.

Judging by the wayGears 5was left, it’s all but certain that aGears 6will be created. SinceGears 5released recently, there’s a strong chance thatGears 6will be a Project Scarlett title.
3Forza Motorsport 8
Forza Horizonmay be the open-world racing game of our dreams, butForza Motorsportis also an exceptional track-based racing game. It doesn’t provide the freedom ofForza Horizon, but what it does it does splendidly.
Forza Motorsport 7is a game with an extensive collection of vehicles. It’s one of the most immersive racing games of all time. Project Scarlett would benefit from having a reboot of the franchise—as long as its made by Turn 10 Studios.

Compared to other games in the series,Dead Rising 4was a lackluster release.Dead Rising 3is the debatably the best example of aDead Risinggame done right. Hopefully, Microsoft doesn’t give up on one of their best exclusives and pushesDead Rising 5for Project Scarlett.

1Fable
Xbox One players may not be familiar with theFableseries.Fableis an action-role-playing series that released for the original Xbox and the Xbox 360.Fable Legendsis a canceledFablegame that was canceled in 2016. The cooperative adventure game did not make the jump to Xbox One.
There’s little preventing Microsoft from reviving theFableseries for the next-generation Xbox. The announcement of a newFablesequel game would be too good to be true.
